The ArctiClean kit works brilliantly. Step 1 quickly removes old thermal paste, and Step 2 leaves the surface perfectly clean and ready. Makes CPU repasting easy and safe – much better than alcohol wipes. A must-have for PC builders and maintenance.

Perfect Companion for CPU rethermals.
I've used ArtiClean for years when performing rethermals on CPUs and GPUs alike. Very straightforward to use and is able to completely clean the previous application of thermal paste, even when the paste has completely dried up and is hard stuck to the heat sink. Due to the strength of the ArctiClean 1, you don't need to apply much at all. For the tougher applications of thermal paste, you'll need to leave it to set for a couple of minutes as it emulsifies the paste, but definitely gets the job done. The price can be seen a little steep for how much you get, but it does last for several uses.
