Every detail of this patented design has been carefully thought out. The lockable lid acts like a paw scraper to keep litter off the floor. The modkat litter scoop has an ergonomic handle and masterfully sieves lumps. The modkat tarpaulin liner is resistant to scratching, easy to clean, is tailored to the interior and thus stays out of sight. Non so.. Review: Best cat litter box! - Best cat litter box ever. My cat is 16 lbs and it works great for him. **Q: Does it put a strain on older cats?** A: We have four cats: a very sprightly 20 year old (who can still jump on counters), a 13 year old couch potato, and two young cats (2 and 3 years old). The younger cats immediately adapted; no problem. Neither the 20 YO or the 13 YO would ever use the ModKat, which we quite liked otherwise. So--not a strain, obviously, for the 20 YO--she just refused to use it. Can't teach an old cat new tricks, apparently. **Q: Is this too big for a 7-8 week old kitten?** A: I think it's best to stick to a good ol' rectangular open litter box for a kitten for now. Your kitten is getting used to many things and changing the litter box dramatically may put off the kitten from using it. Before the kitten is fixed, it's more likely they will spray outside of the litter box. Once the kitten is fixed and is bigger, try different types of litter box. It will be great if the Modkat Litter Box works for your cat. It does do a good job of keeping the litter in the litter box. **Q: Hi! I'm really interested in getting this box . How large is the hole for the cats to use to get in? I have 1 cat that's about 15 pounds. Thx!** A: We love our Modkat! My Russian Blue is one years old and 10 pounds, they have, I think, long bodies. He has no problem jumping up and manuvering once inside. On the Modko website, it states the opening is 8.5 inches at its smallest point (9 and 9.5 inches at larger points). The opening is not quite a circle but you can see the shape and read about it on their website. I think your cat would be fine - but I would not recommend this litter box for an elderly cat as jumping up and getting into the opening may be difficult for them. Also, this is a good litter box for cats that like and are use to litter boxes with a top. If your cat does not like enclosure type litter boxes (if they use just an open box bottom) they may not like an enclosure. Please let me know if you need any more info. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solido, molto bello *by L***. on 27 April 2019* Lo uso da diversi mesi (acquistato per impedire al cane che soffre di pica di mangiare la sabbietta). Also, the customer’s service is excellent! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Definitely recommend- see review *by J***N on 5 April 2026* Looks nice compared to other litter boxes. Doesn’t create mess at all as cat enters and leaves by the top. I hadn’t actually introduced my cat to this as I didn’t think she would know how to use it and it seemed like it might be tricky for her to jump out of when it was filled with litter (she is very small and hadn’t used top entry/exit litter boxes before), but I put litter in it and put it in the downstairs bathroom and she clearly worked it out as the next morning she had used it, and regularly does now. She has 3 different litter boxes and this is definitely the least messy in terms of the least litter tracking (and doesn’t need a mat) ## Frequently Bought Together - Modkat Top-Entry Litter Box - Reduces Litter Tracking, Swivel Lid for Easy Cleaning, Leak-Proof, Dog Proof - Includes Scoop & Reusable Liner White - Modkat Liner Type A (3-Pack) – Compatible with Modkat Litter Box (Top-Entry) - Modkat Litter Mat Large - Gray --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/569269793-modkat-litter-box-top-entry-looks-great-reduces-litter-tracking](https://www.desertcart.com.pa/products/569269793-modkat-litter-box-top-entry-looks-great-reduces-litter-tracking) --- *Product available on Desertcart Panama* *Store origin: PA* *Last updated: 2026-10-08*
