As long as your canopy is no bigger than the 6 1/4 inches , it will fit. Your canopy is the top piece that hugs the ceiling .

what is 3 5/8-Inch ID?

3-5/8" is the diameter of the actual hole cutout. In my installation, the lamp canopy was larger (about 4-1/2" dia.) and fit over the center rings.
