Worked every time. The one that came with my 8 year old camera almost never worked any longer when connected to the laptop.

I picked this up as a simple replacement cable and it’s been working exactly how I needed it to. It connects easily and transfers photos without any issues, which was my main reason for getting it. Charging is consistent too, no random disconnecting or slowdowns. The cable feels decent quality, not super heavy duty but not flimsy either. It’s a good basic option if you just need something reliable for everyday use. Overall, it does what it’s supposed to do and I’d buy it again if needed.

Over the years I've have many of these cables included with Nikon cameras that I'd purchased. Never had much use for them but occassionally I need one and can never find one among all the other stuff squirrelled away in random locations about the house. Luckily I found this one here on Amazon and immediately ordered it. Loved that it arrived in less than 48 hours from me purchasing the cable. I have it hooked up now as its charging a old Nikon P500 that had completely discharged battery, the camera not been used since 2018 so I did purchase some spare batteries, just-in-case. This Charger Cord appears well made and of durable quality. Its odor free and both the connectors fit firmly and snugly into USB ports and the camera. I noted in the current product description that the cable length is not listed in specifications. I was pleased to see when I opened the package and noticed it had pretty good length to it. I measured it as 5 feet (152.4 cm).

I may have missed it, but I didn't see anyone else mention tethering. I can confirm that this cable allowed me to do tethered captures in Lightroom with a D750. Not only were the photos transferred to my PC as I took them, but I was able to adjust camera settings and release the shutter from the PC (again, in Lightroom) as well. Highly recommended. Somehow I lost my camera charger and thankfully, this one is compatible with my Nikon 5300 camera. The cord is much longer than the original cord, which is a plus and it connects to my computer without any problems. Not only does the cord work well, but it was reasonably priced and a good deal.
