**Q: Does this reads 32nd? or only mm?**
A: MM ONLY

**Q: Does this measure in 32nds?**
A: no, this one do not have the 32nds conversion, we will get a new updated one, which have this feature. thank you.

**Q: Does this item give you a go/no go reading?  Do you have to convert decimal inches to fractions so that it makes sense to technicians?**
A: It just give numbers in mm or fraction of inch in decimal form. Yes you would have to convert decimal to eighths if techs needed that.  I use mm instead for that reason - no conversion needed.

**Q: Why does the number (in MM) get smaller as the depth increases?  Then switches from a negative number..??**
A: The pin on the end of the probe need to be fully recessed when you press the zero button.  If it is extended and you press the zero button, then as the probe is moved, it will get smaller and then become negative.  To zero the probe, first press the gauge down on a flat surface. Then press the zero button.  Now place the gauge on the tire above the tread and push the probe down until it hits the bottom of the tread. The gauge should go from zero the the depth of the tread.

This is my first impression review as it’s a recent purchase and I’ve only used it a few times. It Works like other micrometers that I’ve used before. Has a good read out/display. Easy to read.So far it’s seems as though it’s a Good quality, it’s not chincey and it will work for my intended purpose.My intended purpose is as follows:to help me when rotating my tires to see if one is wearing more than another. This will help me to determine if I have a wear issue and if I need to go further testing with a more precise instrument. So this is like a basic diagnostic tool for me. This gauge is precise enough to help me with this objective.NOTE: that I don’t have a precision gauge to test it against but so far I like this one.Therefore, For my intended purpose and for price point it’s a good value for my money.

As a claims adjuster I inspect vehicles involved in auto accidents every day. Many of them are deemed total losses and in order to determine what their value was prior to being damaged, it is important to rate the vehicle's condition in many areas. Most of this is done visually and through photo documentation. However, I must also measure the tread depth of all 4 (or more) tires. A totaled vehicle with 4 bald tires will have a bit less value than one with 4 new ones. This tool can also assist when selling your car on line and will help the buyer know more about the vehicle's condition. The product itself is compact, lightweight, slim and fits easily in any pocket. It can be switched from metric to standard measurement and has a button to clear the prior measurement. Since I photo everything the best part is the digital numbers are easy to read and see in pics. It comes with a battery installed as well as an extra and since the product is only used a few seconds at a time, it should last a very long time. Great product for auto body and service centers as well as insurance appraisers. The every day Joe may not need this much but very nice product for the money. Keep in mind this is not an air pressure gauge, just tire tread depth.

A good tool to accurately measure your tread depth. Since most tire dealers provide tread depth in 32nds of an inch, it'd be an improvement to provide that same measurement with this tool rather than requiring you to make the conversion.
