Working with CAT 6 (< 30m)
I have about 75ft to 80ft of CAT6 (including the patch cables) I routed through the wall a few years ago and I'm able to maintain a stable 10g connection with low RETR on iperf3 between these transceivers. They get very hot, too hot to touch for more than 1 sec, but they function well. They do cool down very quickly (few minutes to about room temp) once removed or powered off. I bought about 10 in total and I would buy more if needed.

Works great on a Unifi switch
I used these as a lower cost alternative to the Unifi product. Easy to install, same size and quality, but a great value. Perfectly compatible with our Unifi switches.

The backbone to my network
I have been using this item for a period of time at 2.5gig from my ISP and have it connected to the other device (Ubiquiti dream machine pro) at 10gig. This has worked fantastic and was a great price for its performance. I have not needed to give this another thought and would definitely repurchase this if I needed another one instead of a DAC for some reason.

Works better than GTEK
I bought a pair of the GTEK equivalent, and neither worked in my Unifi Dream Machin Pro SE. Then I bought this one and everything worked perfectly. I was using it with a 5Mbps USB3.0 adapter on the PC side, so maybe that complicated things for the GTEK, but at any rate this product works.

This Thing Runs HOT!!!
I'm not sure what to expect out of a SFP+ to 10GbE adapter, but I didn't expect it to run this hot. If you touch it for more than 2 or 3 seconds you will most likely burn your fingers! It heats up the whole side of my Yuanley 9-port (1-SFP+, 8-2.5GbE) Enet switch. The transceiver is connected to the switch with a 6' Cat6a patch cable, so it doesn't have to drive the signal very far. It makes the metal cover on the switch too hot to touch after a few seconds (though I don't think you'd burn your fingers, as with touching the transciever module itself).Even though the whole package (switch + transceiver module) seems to work blazingly fast and reliably, it's hard to imagine how a piece of electronics could survive very long at these temperatures.I'll follow up with further reports if/when problems arise.I wouldn't buy another of these from this manufacturer. Not sure if I'll be just as disappointed in another product, though.

Great service
First the specifics:I have this transceiver in the WAN port of my UDM PRO (set to Auto Negotiate) and connected to a 2.5Gb modem. The UDM side is seeing this as a 10Gb connection and the transceiver is correctly transforming the connection to 2.5Gb for the modem.Qualities:As with most if not all SFP+ to RJ45 transceivers, this unit gets hot. More importantly, it comes with a 3 year warranty which shows the manufacturer's trust in the product. Another important consideration is power draw as there is a wide disparity between brands. ipolex seems to be in the middle here although I didn't test this for myself.Experience:I can see from a speed test that I am getting nearly the entire 1.2Gb bandwidth promised by my ISP. Due to my configuration, I did not test at faster speeds. I got a little over a year with no problems and then started to have daily connectivity issues. After a few months of that, the transceiver died. It was difficult to figure out how to get warranty service since the manufacturer, like most, requires that I go through the retailer (Amazon) and Amazon doesn't make it easy to find the link. However, once I got to the correct screen and was now dealing directly with ipolex, the process went quickly and they replaced the faulty transceiver. Start to finish, I had the replacement in my hands in 4 days.Quality:One failure is not an indication of quality as I have had failures with every brand. I use that much equipment. Best I can say here is, let's see how long the replacement lasts.

Worked great with my Ubiquiti UNAS-Pro at 2.5 GbE
Title says it all. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that my Ubiquiti UNAS-Pro quite easily worked with the SFP+ module. And it supported 2.5GbE as desired. It does take about 2 minutes to show up on the UNAS-Pro dashboard though so be patient.
