Q: is the strainer fine enough to be able to steep Fennel, cumin and coriander seeds? Many thanks,

Yep it is. The infuser has 4 sides with a couple slits in the glass on each side to strain. Only like very very fine crumpled leaves or powder gets through. But I feel it strains way better than the ball infusers.

Q: Can I put it in the microwave to heat the tea/coffee？

Yes, it’s borosilicate glass which is microwave and dishwasher safe.
