So I had it for a couple months worked great! Cleaned it “ it has self cleaning” once a month and there was a loud grinding noise and the ice wasn’t coming up. So not waiting on amazon to help me get a new one! I don’t recommend!

Quiet hum; the compressor sound blends into normal kitchen noise. Bottom line If you want that iconic Sonic‑style nugget ice at home without waiting ages, this VIVOHOME unit delivers. Quick production, perfect texture, and stress‑free maintenance—my freezer cubes haven’t seen daylight since it arrived.

I really like this unit but after using it for a while I started to notice black pieces of plastic in the ice bin. After further inspection I noticed the black plastic sprocket that helped form the nuggets and eject them from the mold was breaking off. We only used the ice maker on the weekends during the summer. I contacted the manufacturer about the issue and asked if there was a replacement part available or if it was covered under warranty. They were somewhat quick to respond and requiring photos and or a video, so they knew exactly what part I was referring to. Once I sent the photos I never heard back from them. I emailed them several more times with no response, so now I am leaving this negative review in hopes they see it and so that others are aware of the issues prior to possible purchase. I spent a lot of money of this unit for it to deteriorate so quickly. BUYER BEWARE!

This is the third counter top ice maker. The others were so noisy. So far this one is relatively quiet. Not silent but not loud.

I have to turn this thing off. I was on a zoom and had to turn my speakers on full volume because the ice maker kept turning on and i couldnt hear anything in the meeting. It's so loud, I would rather drink my beverages warm. this thing is incredibly annoying and more of a hindrance than providing anything beneficial. Plus, I have to use an ice pick to break up the ice because the ice gets stuck together. Do NOT buy this thing Its the worst use of my money I have ever spent It tells me that this company has scammed the reviews page because there is NO WAY, these reviews are genuine. if the reviews were honest, this product would show 10,000 1 star reviews, not the other way around

Update: you just have to make ahead of time and transfer ice to a bin in freezer if you need to serve multiple people at once. It will not make ice fast enough to replenish drinks without having made ice ahead of time. It takes a while to fill the little basket that is included. But! It works well. Glad I kept and gave it another shot.

Makes great ice, but it must be cleaned regularly. If I went a week without cleaning, there were black floaties in the water and a dark film over surfaces. I've owned 2 of these, both lasting about 2 years each. They both died with consistent problems with the floaties and film - and I ONLY used purified reverse osmosis water in them. I have to assume that the machine itself provided the grease-like additions. I've chosen to make my own ice, going forward, using ice trays in the freezer. I no longer need the "nugget" ice. The machine does keep the ice well frozen and it does really well, until it doesn't.

I Love my crunchy water maker! When I was buying my ice I was going through More than a bag per day! Sometimes as much as 1 1/2 bags per day!😳 This ice maker makes Way more than I can use if I’m leaving it on all day. Make sure you clean it often! The top lid comes all the way off, to clean the “secondary” water area. I have really hard water, so I send it through my britta filter twice a. Because of the hard water it can cause calcium buildup (I think that’s what it is), so it actually stopped making ice (after only 6 months of use). I was devastated! A friend offered to fiddle around with it. He ended up running vinegar through it (equal parts water/vinegar). Now it’s working Perfectly again!! I Love my “crunchy Water!!!” I wish I could give it 4.5 stars. The reason that I didn’t give it 5 stars is because it stopped working. But that really ended up being because of my hard water. Maybe the users manual should say to use vinegar if it stopped making ice.🤔🤷🏻‍♀️
