A wide variety of licks to get stuck into. Not for absolute beginners but it's accessible for a beginner/intermediate level player like myself. I guess an advanced guitarist would get through this pretty quick as the licks aren't too long, but I'll get a lot of use out of this book. Easy to read, good music downloads and good value for money.

good one
it has a lot of good licks in there thats for sure.i would not necessarily agree with the title as some riffs that i consider blues landmarks are not in this book.however there is a lot of cool ones in there and gets better the further you get.most licks are quite easy to play and about half of them,or at least their motifs, are instantly recognizable.its not a beginners book though and if you have not been playing for 4-5 years at least start with something easier like beginners blues guitar or something.or to put it differently if your string bending, vibrato and slide techniques arent up to scratch you wont benefit much from this book and it wont help you to improve them either.

Blues licks in tab and normal notation.
I brought this as a present for a beginner guitarist. He has some musical experience and is finding the selection of tunes, presented in normal musical notation and tableture clear and easy to follow. I didn't go through the book to deeply for fear of marking it, as I said it was supposed to be a present. The guy getting it seems well pleased with it, and what I did see of the book is enough to make me want one myself.

101 Must Know Blues Licks
I ahve been playing Guitar on and off for years and wanted to improve my Blues playing. This book already had good reviews and my initial impression is very good. CD does exactly what it says - plays each lick full speed then slowed down. Well written and all examples are useful plus gives key and scale or mode being used to allow you to expand on lick given. I would say it was intermediate level. Well worth the money.

Easy, simple and interesting
If you love to play the blues, I strongly recommend it. It has different sections from Pre-war and post-war blues to Delta, Chicago and Texas blues. It even has post-modern blues. It even has text in it that gives context to what you're learning. It's not teaching specific songs, but what it does teach can be used in nearly every single blues song - it even has a list at the back to show you which songs.I would give a 5 star, but I've not used it to its full potential yet.

Very well produced
I've been playing guitar for many years in lots of different styles but the blues have always been my underlying influnce. I find that this book is just great to dip into when I feel that my playing is sounding a bit jaded. Although I've probably played most of the licks in this book at some time or another over the years it's easy to slip into playing just a few favourites and becoming a bit predictable, a quick flick through the book serves as a great wake up call when I find a line that I haven't played for ages.
