Speedring to Bowens Mount Converter – Monolight Interchangeable Adapter Ring

Fits my profoto B1's as it should. Now I can use my bowens quick-folding softbox on my strobes

I picked this up for use on a Profoto Compac 1200 light to adapt a 7-foot Bowens softbox to my Profoto lights. The 7-foot softbox is heavy, but this speedring adapter held up well. I used that particularly softbox, because there is always some dip when using it, and I figured if this speeding could handle that softbox, then it could handle just about anything. Sure enough, there was a slight dip- as happens even when I do not have to use an adapter....but the adapter itself didn't break or slip. It held on, stayed firm, and the adapter ring itself was no worse for wear. I'll be ordering 5 more of these adapters for my other Profoto lights. (See as how so many of my softboxes have Bowens mounts.)

These do the job and aren’t super heavy on a flash head once paired with a modifier. I’ve only used up to a 3 foot octa with it though. What I like is that you can leave this speedring on your modifiers so it’s all ready to go when you need it. The fit is good but I can see how with a lot of wear it could go loose. Haven’t had to yet, but hopefully can be fixed with the right tools to bend the metal tightening ring. I only take off a star because the metal edges are sharp. Good to be aware- take your time setting them up and you’ll be alright.

No need to pay profoto prices on your accessory equipment. This mount works great. Recommended.
