WORKS PERFECTLY!
This replacement for a broken Package Tray Tie Strap on a 2013 Hyundai Accent Hatchback works perfectly. Someone said on one of the sites that sells this particular kind of replacement that it does not but with an adjustment of the length in the cord it works great. I used a pair of needle nose pliers to get the cord into the small hole and push it through to the larger hole then again used the needle nose pliers to pull it through. I did not use the caps as for the life of me I could not see how they would work. I tied a knot at the correct length of cord then wrapped the extra length of cord up and around the cord coming in the top and tied another knot. I had the broken piece so I used that to measure the amount of adjustment of length I needed to make. Long story short I got it right the first time and the package shelf in our 2013 Hyundai Accent Hatchback is back working just like new. As a matter of fact the replacement is better that OEM and much, much less expensive than the dealer would have been. It does not come with instructions so I was flying blind but read the reviews and looked at the other sites that sell this and finally realized what needed to be done. It may not be a pretty the way I did it but no one sees the underside but me so who cares, it works!

I didn't even know that these things had a name. My string popped in my trunk and I went to three different auto parts stores and two Walmarts looking for a replacement. None of the salespeople knew what I was talking about. I had to take them to my car and open the trunk to show them, and even then, none of the places I went carried these. Anyway, long story short, I found this product and it fit my hatchback (Kia Forte5) perfectly. It only comes with one, though. So if you need two, either order two or buy a pack that comes in a pair.

Thick rope. Did not come w cap on end of stopper
Pushed thick rope through top of cargo cover. Had it been as thin as manufacturer it would af been fine. But it was thick enough that when I pushed through w mini flathead it cracked the plastic fixed onto the cargo cover. After that I used a thinnest mini flathead and got it through the small hole of the stopper. Had old broken piece to size up and knot off. No cap on stopper like in pic was in my package.

How to install
For those wondering (no instructions provided), you put the rubber-sided string-end through your cargo cover and then into the small hole on the rubber stopper. Once through the large hole, put the rubber-sided string-end through the hole in the bottom of the cap-bolt and pull it through. Make sure to get the length correct on the string-to-stopper to ensure your cargo cover is equal height to the string held on the other side! Then insert (some pressure needed) the cap-bolt with the string through it into the large hole in the rubber stopper and push until it snaps into place with the remainder of the string coming through the cap with the cap-bolt secured into the rubber stopper (you can cut the cord to the desired length afterwards, just be sure to burn or tape the ends so they don't start fraying). Hope that helps!

Fit, with some modification
Does not fit perfect on 2010 VW golf as mentioned. I was able to make them work, just had to cut and burn the rope to correct length

Perfect replacement
Exactly what I needed!

Does exactly what it's supposed to do.
Easy to install but you have to thread the string though the eyehole, best done with needle-nosed plyers. String is plenty long, so I cut to size and burned the end of the string. Good value. Very pleased

Price doesn't match what you get
The product works fine but I in all honesty thought there was 2 to a package. The price for one is a bit much.

Size matters
Make sure you check the length of the strap. This was too long for my Volkswagen
