That’s when looking on Amazon multitools seem to fit the bill, but I wasn’t looking to spend a lot of cash on a multitool when I didn’t know much about them and no, I knew I only needed it for certain tasks such as Phillips head, flat hit screwdrivers, pliers, scissors saw, knife, blade, serrated, blade, cordage, rope, cutter, wire, stripper, wire, crimper, can opener, bottle opener, prybar, wood file, diamond file 18 tools in one multitool. Great value!
Update: I've had a couple months of work-use to provide some additional thoughts. Wire cutters are a little soft, not too worried about it given the price of the tool, sometimes when cutting wire the pliers will get stuck in a closed position. After a bit of a break-in period, and maybe some oil, the tools are much easier to access and I think are easier to deploy than most multi-tools. The mini driver is such an awesome feature I've used it a ton! Also the files are better than expected after getting some real use on them. Was not able to move the clip over to the other side like I wanted. Oh well. None of these change my overall rating and perception of value. Still a 10/10 would buy again and is a part of my work routine to make sure this is in my pocket. Original Review: I needed something to replace my Old Leatherman Rebar that I lost but couldn't stomach $80 for something I beat up every day at work. I saw the Workpro on some EDC YouTube channels a few months ago and was shocked the price hadn't gone up. Pros: Compact. I wear Wrangler ATG pants for work and I used to carry my rebar in the coin pocket. The Work Pro fits just fine. I like that it has the clip as well. Exterior tools are great. I love the easy access to the blades and the file. Spring loaded pliers, tools are pretty easy to access and they're all locking which us great. Love the micro phillips driver! Didn't realize this was a feature when I bought it and was pleasantly surprised. Ergonomics are pretty good. Some cheaper multi tools are really uncomfortable to use, the Work Pro feels pretty good. Wire cutters perform well with light work. Cons: A little heavy, but that's to be expected from a $20 tool. A little stiff in some places so needs a little maintenance out the box. Some of the black finish on the cutters is already wearing out with some wire cutting. Overall: I'm going to see about swapping the orientation of the exterior tools and the clip, but I'd buy again for sure. For $20 I'll probably get another one just to sit in the car. Update: I've bought a second one. I now have the green and blue. The blue I added some oil (I used oil for my hair clippers and it worked great), the green I left alone. Definitely add some lubrication to your tool and it'll be much better. I've seen some folks complain about the scissors. Not sure what they're experiencing, I've used these a lot to cut plastic strapping on boxes and bales etc for shipping purposes. When I moved I had these packed and had to go back to a Gerber multitool (don't remember the name) to do some home maintenance stuff and change a tail light bulb, I missed my workpro so much. The tool is extremely comfortable and I paid 2-3x as much for my Gerber and the user experience just hurts the hands. These tools are still 10/10 for value. Never afraid to take it to work and have something happen to it, but I still actively prefer it over more expensive tools I own.

Worth every penny
I'd first like to say that multi-tools are not designed to replace dedicated tools. That being said, it is worth every bit of the $20 I paid for it. Since most people seem to compare all these budget tools to the leathermans, I will do the same. I have owned 3 leathermans: the Rebar, the P4, and the P2. Out of the box, the Workpro feels like good quality, and its fairly heavy. I didn't intend to carry this in my pocket, so the included sheath (which is very adequate) is nice. It is about the same length and width as the Rebar, but is significantly thicker. The tool unfolds with a proper stiffness for a new tool, and the knives and accessories all open with no fuss. Clamping the pliers feels sturdy, and they return to the open position with a strong spring action. The outer tools use a liner lock, while the inner tools use a backlock, both of which work fine, although the liner can be a bit stiff, which will soften a bit after use. Im satisfied with the tool set, although my crosshatch file could be a bit more sharp, but I think the fine grit side will make up for that. The saw is nice and sharp, and locks firmly in place. The smaller flathead on the cutter works perfectly for switch plate screws, which makes it extra handy. Scissors work great as well, and the little thumb rest is a nice touch. All of the tools are easy to access and easy to use. Overall, this is a good multitool for the money, and worth adding to a collection, however I would probably not want it to be my only mutlitool.

4 Star tool, made 5 stars by the price
WORKPRO 18-in-1 Multi Tool Functionally, this is pretty much identical to a Leatherman - its overall design is strongly reminiscent of the Leatherman Wave, except that where the Wave has replaceable screwdriver tips, this has fixed ones. (I don't consider that a strike against - carrying around the tips is a pain, so min live in a drawer and I just use the defaults). This is a good design to copy, since the Wave is an absolute workhorse, and the addition of color to the body is actually quite well done. That said, it's very evident that it's a knock off. The action is stiff, and the arms are not quite as precisely placed. I got two of these, and while one of them is fine, on the other one, the saw blade folds in fractionally further, so it's kind of a hassle to pull it out. It's not a huge deal, and I suspect the action will get better with time and lubrication, but it's the small differences that distinguish the definitely 5-star Wave from a well made imitation. Normally, that would be the end of it, and this would be a 3 or 4 star review, depending how much the compromises impacted the product and how much confidence I have. In this case, it's 4 stars because my other big concern with something like this is that if they cheated out on the materials, rust is going to be a concern. However, I have gotten other products from workpro in the past, and have yet to see any evidence to that kind of corner cutting, so that would tip it over to 4 stars. However that would overlook what drew me to this model: the price. I got mine for $24.99, and this seems to be frequently marked down to $20. In contrast, the Wave is going to run you $100-$120 or more, depending on a number of factors. All of which is to say, this is a BARGAIN. For my specific scenario, we have emergency car kits, and one of the things I like to include is a good multi-tool. Unfortunately, good multi-tools are expensive, so I have previously compromised on fairly sketchy ones, because I absolutely cannot justify the cost of nice ones. But these are prices comparably to much sketchier products, and I have happily swapped them into the kits. For a multi-tool or knife that you intend to carry everywhere, I generally recommend spending a bit more for quality and reliability. Small annoyances that aren't a big deal when you test at home can be a real hassle in the sorts of unplanned situations where you need to have your tool on hand. So, if you'r looking for personal carry and you *can* afford better, I still recommend looking for it, but if you can't, then this is not a bad choice. At the price, it is also not a terrible choice for a kid's first "real" multi-tool before they have established the habits that leave you confident that they won't forget a $100 tool somewhere. And if what you're looking for is a backup or alternate multitool that you just want to stash somewhere you might need it, then this is pretty much the perfect package. (Re: color - I did the blue, and it looks good. Can't speak to the others, but I like that there's a variety in case I needed to distinguish between them)

Amazing multitool for the price
Value for the price, this is an unbeatable multitool. It's got every tool you could need, it's not too big so it's easy to store or carry around and it's really easy to use. The spring loaded plyers are a game changer compared to other tools I have. My only wish is they had more colors, but what are you going to do. I'll be picking up a bunch to give out as gifts because they're not too expensive and it's something people will use every day and think of me.

Very poor workmanship - edited
The included tools are very useful, which is why I purchased this multitool. However, the build is subpar. On arrival, I was unable to open the serrated blade, and had to unscrew the device to do so. The first time I used the tool, the spring popped out and it took me half an hour to replace it, using two other multi tools. The next time I used it, the same spring flew across the yard, and was lost forever. Now none of the inside tools will lock. On closing the multi tool, it pops back open, and will not stay shut. The blades are very sharp, and I appreciate the double-sided file, especially with the diamond coating. However, neither the file nor the saw will close properly, scraping against the walls of the tool. The pliers and cutters seem OK. Scissors are probably the worst I have ever seen on a multi tool, and are practically unusable (in fact, they’re almost impossible to open out of the tool). I own about a dozen multi tools, and this is easily the worst constructed of any of them. Even though it was only 20 bucks, I cannot recommend buying this. I have upgraded my review from a two star to a three star. The company was very responsive and sent me a replacement knife, which arrived very quickly. The blades open easily, and so far the springs have remained intact. Unfortunately, as you can see from the attached video, the sawblade is recessed and cannot be opened without a tool. The same is true for the file on the opposite side. I really want to like this multi tool. But alas, the workmanship and quality control is not there.

The hype is real. There is no competition for this multitool.
At its price, there is no competition, and up to double its msrp, this is a primary contender. Fit and finish are very good. It is quite stiff initially, but after some use, it loosens up. Pros: No sharp edges for hot spots in use except for the belt clip belt clip! spring loaded pliers surprisingly good knife Every tool locks knife tools have a separate individual liner lock, so it is nearly impossible to accidently unlock them in use well thought out tools Scissors are good for size and cut accurately saw blade is push/pull file is great for a multitool included case feels like it would last a couple years. quite good for a multitool Cons: non replaceable wire cutters. I will abuse these and wish I could replace the cutter, but the entire tool is nearly as cheap. Heavy for pocket carry jack of trades and master of none -- needs 2 variations see below Upgrades: the master of none problem. Workpro needs to make 2 different models. The first is a slightly more expensive model with replaceable (cheap) cutter inserts and a screwdriver sleeve tool with extra storage in the better case. I would carry this with a personal selection of bits, and this would also be in my kitchen drawer and tackle box. The second is a model the same price or cheaper that replaces the nice knife with a better/larger set of scissors, makes the sheepsfoot blade a 1/2 serrated only, and puts an awl in place of the old scissors. This would be one of the best camp/hiking multitools ever. Bare tool weight on my kitchen scale: 280g or 9.9oz

Got paranoid for no reason after some negative reviews...
I ordered this multi tool after reading lots of great reviews. Then after ordering, I continued reading reviews, and every 10 or 15 reviews, I'd see a bad one talking about handles not lining up, tools that couldn't be accessed or too hard to pull out, dull tools, non-working cutters, non-working scissors, cheap materials, and on and on. I began to get nervous that I had made a mistake by ordering, but I needn't have worried. The tool I got is dang near perfect. It's very easy to get all the tools out. It stays closed when I want it to and stays open when I want it to. I examined the metal tools under a magnifying glass with reading glasses on, and I saw none of the poor tooling, nicks in blades or dull and non-working tools that I read about. The build quality seems excellent to me, and all tools function as they should. I cannot say anything about longevity yet, as I only recently got them. So far, this is the best multi tool I have purchased, and I do have several. If it breaks easily or something else happens, I'll update this review. I'm sure there are some lemons, but I got a great one, and I'm going to order at least one more. My scissors work great, cutters work well, everything is smooth and feels exactly the way I want it to. And I paid full price for it...$25. Very happy so far. I would be nervous if I owned one of the name brand multi tool companies. These may not be AS good, but they are getting really close, and that will only continue. For the price, I certainly can't complain.

Sehr gutes Budget Multitool
