Effectively keeps my cat in cat jail and has fit in every doorway I've needed it in. Very adjustable sizing.While it is a tad pricey, the quality of the gate is worth it. After about a year of use, the latch is still strong and easy to use, while still looking clean.

I bought this so we could sequester a cat who is being picked on by other cats, when we are not at home - without completely shutting her off with a solid door. (We want her to still be able to feel like she is at home, being able to hear and smell and see other things happening in the house. This will also allow the friendliest cat to come up and visit with her through the bars.) It does the job exceedingly well. Even our smallest cat can't squeeze between the upright slats. Having horizontal crossbar only at the top and bottom, there's nothing for him to climb to try to get to the top. I also like the design of the top extension. The fact it swings with the door makes this much easier to use when we need to get through it. There's no crouching down to get under the upper extension. :-)I've taken one star off because of some elements of the design that make it a little awkward. The first is that if you adjust the thumb screws to have it held quite strongly in a door frame, it can make the gate hard to open and re-close. There's no easy way around this problem, with the previously mentioned design that allows the upper extension to move with the door. The second problem is that it is kind of awkward to move around for storage when taken out of the door. The side pieces that help the thumb screw mechanism set the unit into the door do not hold on, so you either have to grasp it with a hand on each side and hold them in as you move it, or find some other way to hold them in place. Also without having no crossbar at top, the unit flexes a good bit, which can allow the door to flop around. With a little practice, you can hold the sides of it, and push in enough to keep the door from flopping. It's a little tricky at first. These two problems are not major, however. One solution could be to use a little bungee cord to hold the side pieces together, and also keep the door from flopping at the same time.Overall, I am quite satisfied with it, and I am happy with it as a solution to our feline Behavioral problem.

Excellent. Good quality, sturdy. Kept my new kitten out of the other rooms and away from the other cats until she got vaccinated and tested. But, she was able to jump it and get out, she is a jumper.

The extenders did not fit into the holes of the gate. One side would slot in easily, but the other side was off by about a quarter of an inch or more, and it was impossible to get both metal rods to slot in properly.The two sets of extenders fit perfectly with each other, but not the gate itself.

Very nice gate that's been in heavy use for over 6 months now. The gate opens in both directions by toggling the slide and lifting up. When opened you can position the door to stay open or let it shut on its own. The gate needs lubricant ever so often to keep it functioning properly. I would buy again.

I've needed a gate like this for a long while and finally took the dive and bought one. I'm super sad that the one delivered has a broken latch that sticks. It has to manually be pushed forward after release to relock it in place. It looks like it knocked into something and was damaged on the corner during shipping.The rungs are 1.5" apart, not 1.32". One of my cats still squeezed through ha.All in all the latch is small and a bit... underwhelming for such a large gate. I've had many other shorter gates with much better latches. I don't see this one lasting long, especially being broken out of the box. I really don't want to have to send it back but for the price I probably will and will order a different brand.Installation was easy, the instructions don't tell you want every piece is for, and the bottom kick guards don't fit a lot of door jams, so keep in mind those are more for open spaces with flat flooring/no kickboards. It came with two metal pieces that I still have no idea what they are for and while the instructions that came with it doesn't tell you what the bolts are for, the videos on here give a glimpse.It isn't cat/kitten proof if your cats are on the smaller side.
