Unlike others I've had this has an additional "tacky" pad. This appears to be the same stuff as the car dashboard non-slip mat I've had for a while. Make sure that your wall is clean, dry and dust free. Remove the protective film from the suction cup - don't let the tacky pad get dusty or wet, it won't stick. If you need to, wash the pad and dry carefully, the tackiness will return. The main body needs to be fully anticlock so the sucker is flat. Position carefully where needed - the tacky pad will hold it but is hard to re-position without taking off completely. Keep the unit pushed to the wall and turn the body part clockwise to suck it tight to the wall. I found you need a good grip and after a quarter turn I heard a click. Done. A solid, good looking unit that should work well for some time.
