Good picture quality and stability, especially for the price, app is not mandatory for PC
This is way better than the older generic USB microscope, mostly because of the significantly better stand and increased resolution. It also seems to have higher depth of focus, with the old one I could barely get two whole sides of a QFN64 chip to be in focus at the same time. As for the stand, you can indeed get a much better, very stable aluminium stand with a geared height adjustment for both the old and the new microscope, but this only works for looking at things straight from above. This is why the improved metal stand for this microscope is such a big feature - it is at least somewhat stable and allows inspecting things like a phonograph stylus from different angles without having to prop it up on something. The generic stand of other USB microscopes with the plastic claw and two ball joints is absolutely miserable in comparison. So with this microscope you can probably save on the separate upgraded stand, which is a similar cost to the actual device. The phone app works OK, but I find it more comfortable to use with a computer (works as an ordinary webcam). The focus ring is also less annoying than in the old one. Also be aware that the clear plastic funnel can be removed and reattached (not just the cap IN the funnel) if you want to get the microscope closer to the object and there is something in the way. You can use this microscope for coins, post stamps, electronics, and assessing the condition of plant parts, record player styli and shaver blades (included the comparison of old electric shaver blades and brand new ones - there is an immediately visible difference), repairing scratches in vinyl records that skip, among other things. I do recommend the free software called S-Eye, that allows the image to be flipped back to the real orientation, unlike Windows 11 Camera app that only used to have that function. This makes doing actual work on the observed object much easier.

Best image quality
Clear beautiful images. Easy to use. I’m a geology nerd / rock hound. This device is awesome and has leveled up my enjoyment significantly as well as my identification of minerals

Good but difficult to focus
Very detailed image, but the zoom function and focusing is confusing. You have to go back and forth between adjusting the stand and the zoom ring, and there are somehow two focal points at most zoom settings. A rack and pinion style z-axis would be much easier to use. Otherwise, it was a great value for the price, to be able to save images.

The Engineer Review: Works better than Dino-Lite
I am so pleasantly surprised with this little microscope. Pictures attached show it being applied to a mouse pad and a metallic machined surface. Here are the main points I like: - easily connects wirelessly to your phone - takes very clear pictures - can connect with a cable to your laptop - snap a photo by pressing space bar or via the screen or by pressing the button on the device - easy to adjust the zoom - light is bright Not so great: - the focus area is very small - the light can't be adjusted Definitely a great buy, and for this price it would make a great educational toy as well!

Not a laboratory instrument but for my hobbies it is excellent.
Compact and easy to use. I tested it with my PC and with my android phone. It was easy to make connection and display an image on both devices. The resolution is beautiful and focusing is effortless. I especially like the fact that it can be used with no cables attached. That means no cable to get entangled with plant leaves and flower stems. The software for it is downloaded from android play and works without any configuration. The one thing that had me confused is the magnification buttons. They allow you to set digital magnification from x1 to x2 in x0.2 steps. digital magnification trades image size for resolution. The main focusing is optical focus by turning a ring near the lense end of the microscope. The Microscope appears to be solidly constructed. The function buttons have a light soft touch that should not interfere with holding the microscope steady when capturing an image. The android app is called "Wifi check" and the wifi access point is HD-Microscope-e9f0. I uploaded an image of a fine linen shirt and of a screenshot with image of a coarse fabric so that you can see the function buttons.

Not worth it, spend some extra money to buy a less frustrating alternative..
I wanted to like this, but it is unfortunately not that great. It is rather difficult to use when it is not stationary. I wish it had good auto focusing for the minor adjustments instead of being forced to do it manually. For this price point, I would expect it to have that vital QoL feature ;( If you used the stand and propped it up, it would be great. However, for my use case with inspecting ingrown hairs and pimples, it is not practical. Whenever I have to use my tools, I have to lift the microscope a bit and try refocus it with one hand while using my tools with the other. Not to mention, the app sucks! It is poorly built and honestly quite frustrating to use due to the poor design language and lack of features. While the image quality is great, it is not great for my purposes. Also, the app is just annoying to use.. I wouldn’t recommend it, despite its rather inexpensive cost. The features are lacking even by those standards. I didn’t expect much but was still disappointed. I will say, it was fun looking at the skin so close! A lot of my clients and their company enjoyed seeing the tiny hairs and whatnot.

If you have a USB scope you NEED something like this.
USB 'microscopes' are very handy things to have for taking a look at small things. But the terrible stands they all come with (as seen in one of my pics with the big red X) just cripple the scopes. They need to be held perfectly still, and at a perfect distance for a specific zoom. If your scope wobbles, the stand doesn't grip the scope well, or is so short you can't get the scope a decent distance from the subject then you're not getting good pictures. This stand is cheap and solid enough - it even fits the very fat Bysameyee 4K scope I bought, seen in the second picture. You just stick the scope in there, use the two screws around the ring to hold it, then use the screw on the left to loosen the grip on the left column, set the height where you need it, gently tighten the screw, and you're done! This stand goes high enough you can get most things you'll want to take a look at underneath the scope. You might think it's bad that the only axis is vertical, but it's not - all these scopes need the bottom of the scope to be perpendicular to the subject, so tilting is worse than useless. If somehow you need to use the scope on something vertical or tilted, well, you'll have to go back to the crappy old stand. Or you could also get a stand that works like an extensible light stand and gives you six degrees of freedom, but be warned those vibrate a lot and change your distance while rotating the zoom collar, which is also bad for your images. Tradeoffs! But for the price this does exactly what I need. It even comes with a little clamshell zipper case - it will only hold the stand and scope if you break the base down (unscrew the base), but it's certainly better than the box the scope came in.

False Advertising: Not 4K
Giving it a zero star is a little harsh because it is not totally useless. However, the false claims must be condemned. As many have already pointed out, it is not 1000x, which is obvious. 1000x is almost the limit of an optical microscope, not something achievable under $40. Also there is a single knob for zoom and focus; so it effectively has only two zoom levels. And for the highest zoom level, the object has to be very close, but the outter casing is in the way unless the object is very small. The claim that it is 3840x2160P resolution is also false. Capturing an image at 3840x2160 gives no more information than 1920x1080. Just compare the images taking at 3840x2160 and 1920x1080 of the same object and it is clear when zoomed into the image the 3840x2160 only adds more noise. The manufacturer tries to fool you with some sort of interpolation and obscure it with JPEG compression. See the side-by-side comparison. Although there are features to like about this product, we must give it the lowest rating to discourage false advertising.
