Sakae Technical Paper Tomoe River FP Notebook, A5, 5mm Squared (SR-A5NB-HW)

Great little notebooks. Thin, easy to carry and perfect size. Lays nice and flat when opened. No bleed through when using Uniball One gel pens. Ivory paper is easy on the eyes.

This is the best notebook for daily use. It’s lightweight, thin, and has 160 pages. The paper is durable and doesn’t bleed through. I use fountain pens and Energel, and my pens glide smoothly across the paper.

I have used so much paper with my fountain pens. To me, this is the best paper for daily notes. The size is perfect and the feel of the paper is ideal. The way it takes fountain pen ink is wonderful. The colors are great. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Clairefontaine is my hands-down favorite paper for fountain pen ink. Rhodia is a very close second. Tomoe River is in third place. The company was bought and doesn't have the quality of the original paper, which is very disappointing. Not as reliable as papers #1 and 2. But it has minimal bleed though (depends on how you use your pen) and no ghosting (also user dependent) It's keeping it in my top three because of Amazon's price. I go through about a journal a month, so price matters.

First time trying Tomoe River Paper & I wish I did sooner. I love it! It shows off the beauty of various inks & the paper is very soft & smooth. It works out to 19cents per sheet which isn’t too bad when you realize that non-TRP notebooks average roughly 16 cents per sheet. I quite think that the difference is worth it for the quality of paper that you get. Will be buying more but I’m not sure what I’ll be using them all for yet 🤣 EDIT: after using this notebook for a few weeks, I’m still very satisfied. I like the way inks are shown off on this paper; shading, shimmer & wetness. It’s so satisfying to see. Just beware that the paper is quite thin. Almost like those used in bibles. With that, if you have a heavy hand, you’ll get some writing impressions on the other sheets & ink MIGHT show through depending on the color & type of ink you’re using. None of these things are issues for me. It doesn’t affect legibility or use of the sheets.

Very thin and smooth and easy to write with. Would definitely repurchase again.

Excellent product. Fantastic with fountain pen ink and well worth the money I paid. Probably the best fountain pen friendly paper I have ever bought but it is expensive.

Perfect for 9 year old. With the grid on the pages, easier to print letters and numbers.
