Great scanner with Honda specific codes, good value too
Bought for $118.90 in May of 25'. I only own Honda autos and I needed a tester to help be debug a failing SRS impact sensor in one and to deal with TPMS codes in 2 others. I bought a few of the other Launch code scanners but one never arrived and the other two models didn't do what I wanted out of the box, they needed subscription downloads. They were returned. -- So, I bought this Honda specific model. It's done everything I've ask it to do so far, and with no paid downloads. If you connect it to a WiFi network, you can download software and code updates at no charge. --- Pros: The build is nice, the meter feels pretty solid. There's a rubberish coating around sides. The sides and back can probably take a number of drops from the height you'd be using the tool. The front, well you know, it's glass. Just don't drop it on that side. There's an internal battery that keeps date and time. It powers on when plugged into the OBD port, so when its battery does die, the scanner should still be usable (in theory). The cord could be a little bit longer, but it's long enough. The navigating menu system is easy enough for 'basic' use. --- Cons: Due to the coating being poured/molded/fused, the internal battery is not likely user (or anyone else) replaceable. So, when the battery does die (and it will), hopefully it won't ooze out and harm the rest of the unit. The OBD cable is not removable for storage (so also not like replaceable if damaged). And again, navigating menu system is easy enough for 'basic' use. If you don't use the device regularly, it's easy to forget how to properly do some of the more advanced features. Advanced documentation and/or online videos for this model is severely lacking. --- Overall, for my purposes, I'm very pleased with this scanner, my cost and it's capabilities.

Can clear Honda VSA code.
I was looking for a scanner to clear the VSA code on my 2006 Honda pilot. The code appeared around the time my battery died. After replacing the battery, the triangle with the exclamation mark and the VSA light stayed lit on my dash. Drove like this for a while as I held off on purchasing a scanner. I know the Foxwell NT630 Plus can do it (different process) but this Launch scanner had a fantastic sale price and looked like it had the functionality to read VSA codes. Bought it during the cyber monday sale and was able to clear my VSA code easily with it (easier process than the Foxwell). It's a bi-directional scanner and the options can be a bit much if you don't know what you're doing. But for the home mechanic, this is a great tool. If you have a Honda, the Honda specific version of this scanner is great. Just make sure you run the update before using it for the first time. Been driving my pilot for over 100km now since clearing the code and the VSA light has not come back on. Happy with my purchase.

A DIY Mechanic’s Dream—Advanced Capabilities at a Wallet-Friendly Price
I recently picked up the 2025 LAUNCH Creader Elite OBD2 Scanner (the BMW version in my case), and wow—it punches far above its $169 price tag. Devoted BMW/Mini/Rolls-Royce owners (and apparently Toyota users too) will find that this tool handles nearly every diagnostic and coding task without needing dealer software gm-trucks.com +10 amazon.com +10 vtsautoworld.com +10 . 🔧 What I Love Full-System, OE-Level Diagnostics – You can scan virtually every module: engine, ABS, airbag, transmission, body electronics—you name it amazon.com +1 gm-trucks.com +1 . Bi‑directional Control + Active Test – Commands like window motor cycling, mirror adjustment, and lamp activation can be triggered live––no more guesswork amazon.com +1 4runners.com +1 . Advanced ECU Coding – Recently added in 2025, this lets you enable or customize features like auto-fold mirrors, disable seatbelt chimes, recalibrate sensors, and more—ideal for retrofits and personalization amazon.com . All-in-One Service Resets – Perform oil light resets, ABS bleeding, EPB reset, battery coding, injector matching—you get full service functions for free amazon.com +1 vtsautoworld.com +1 . Auto VIN + Lifetime Free Updates – Plug in and it identifies your car instantly and updates firmware for life—no subscription fees. This scanner is a phenomenal bargain. It gives dealership-level diagnostics, coding, and service reset functions without the dealership price. Yes, you'll want the brand-version that matches your vehicle and maybe brush up on features via videos, but the time and money savings are very real. For me, the LAUNCH Creader Elite is a garage essential. Highly recommended!

Waaaaay better than buying a OBD readout tool
I have been using this in my dealership for some time now. It is amazing! There is little that it can't do over the scanner that Honda gives us to use. Everything from actuator tests to resetting learned throttle angles and PCM resets. The health report/ code clear is faster than the Honda tools, even in USB mode. The cost versus a generic OBD readout tool is a non starter. If this one broke today I would happily pay for another. A must have !

Detected and cleared all my error codes for less than the dealer!
Worked great on my 2017 civic, with the auto vin feature able to detect make/model/features without having to type anything in. The ability to do a full scan and then save and send a report via email is awesome. Used it to detect a bad wheel speed sensor after all my warning lights started going off, and then reset everything after I replaced it. The dealership wanted more money to do a one time scan than what I paid to buy this, so it paid for itself in just the first use! I have also used it to change my rear brake pads/rotors because it can release the electronic parking break actuators, which saves you time/effort over having to do it manually. Definitely worth the cost, and while it comes with the Honda software installed, there is an onboard option to download other manufacturers (for a price) so it’s not a one trick pony.
