Delicious Whole Bean Medium Coffee
It is a delicious and well balanced cup of coffee full of flavor and lower acidity. That being said, the price should be closer to $30 a lb, at the time of this post, it is $80 a lb. If not for the high price, I'd order it more often.

Wretched undrinkable swill
**** WARNING**** This is not the stuff of legend. It's just plain gross. It smells burnt when you open the bag, Yuck, it can't be that bad, yes it can and it is. This is truely the worst coffee I've ever had. About 6 of the 8 ounces of beans are going in the garbage because it is undrinkable wretched swill. I wouldn't normally spend $40 on HALF a pound of coffee but Amazon suggested it, and in a moment of weakness I thought why not try it? I have about 7 years of experience pulling shots on a Rocket R58 using a Eureka Specialita as a single dose grinder. The grinder was well cleaned before I pulled the first disappointing shot. It's dialed in now and just as bad. Coffee beans can be graded on a scale of 1(best) to 5 (worst) this could be a 6 or 7 Looks to me like the roast is inconsistant and varies from a medium ~5%?, to dark ~90%?, to burnt black ~5%?. The beans vary in size from the smallest peaberry to XL. The variation in bean size matters. Nearly the entire bag is made up of defective beans, those that are shells, broken, chipped, or burnt. Some of the lighter roasted beans have dents that are burnt which I've always assumed meant the bean had started to rot before it roasted, I've only seen a few of those over the years, until this bag. I have ordered specialty coffees that were roasted on demand and at that price point it's to be expected so when Amazon quoted 12 days for delivery I assumed it was roasted to order. Nope, it was burned, I mean roasted almost 2 months before I got it. So here we are and I can say this with conviction "This is, without a doubt, the worst coffee I have ever had in my life" You have been warned.

Not worth the price for this DARK roast, but Customer Service fixed it (update below)
Generally I buy light-roast, so you can call this my biased-opinion, but here it is anyway. Not worth the price. I consider this as dark-roast, definitely shiny and oily. Tastes and smells like ashtray. I've tried this as pour-over and espresso, both types resulted in a burnt and bitter flavor, uncommon of "medium roast" as this had described it was. I can easily purchase similar burnt smokey roasts at much lower prices. I'll never do espresso of this again because it left residual flavor in my machine... had to pull 2 more shots of other roast to flush it out. I would consider for pour-over again, just add lots of cream and sugar. Needless to say my high expectations of Jamaican Blue Mountain have been been a major let down. It still looks like a fresh batch, likely roasted within a week or two. BTW, I hate the burlap bag, got several fibers on the beans before grinding, even though I removed and tossed the hard-to-remove burlap bag (no label on the now "mystery" foil bag)... considered rinsing the foil bag before opening it. UPDATE: Customer Service got in touch with me and refunded me majority of what I spent (excluding shipping). Overall satisfied with their customer service. Bumping up to 3 stars vs 2.
