Great volume in the series
I understand some might prefer a single, unified storyline and more consistent pacing, but the segmented yet loosely interconnected approach to the series works well. Similarly to volume 1 (my fav), it’s pretty fast paced and highly intriguing in a number of spots while more methodical, juxtaposed and introspective in others. It’s quirky yet cool. It definitely grows on you. Well worth the exploration.

Not your Typical ACTION Manga!
Why this book is different – 1. It is an about an insurance investigator, where do you see that? 2. It talks about various human emotions. 3. It sheds light on various historical events and cultures of various parts of the world. 4. It’s not that action packed, it’s an emotion driven manga. 5. It is humorous at times. 6. It’s a feel-good read, it invokes a cozy feeling. The Long Version - The story is about an insurance investigator who is trained in military combat and is a historian, seemed like a plot I didn't want to miss. The premise was interesting. The manga is not one complete story but a collection of stories. The art style was amazing, and it captures the rich history, of various places where the stories are held, quite picturesquely. What surprised me was that the stories are not that thrilling, or action packed, rather they focus on bringing up various cultural issues and also mingle with various themes of love, family, and friendship. I expected a full-on action and adventure driven stories, but I was a tad-bit disappointed. Perhaps the stories of this edition were not that good, and the stories in other volumes might be good. All the stories only have one character in common: Master Keaton. He just seems to know his way through any circumstance. The book was easy to read, and I was underwhelmed. Sometimes, the stories seemed too childish. They seem to flow effortlessly, and they always succeeded in getting the message across. I was shocked when I read a story which talks about the aftereffects of a divorce because I never expected it to be there. The character of Keaton is likeable. The book wasn't that bad and nor is it that good. It just kind of resonates with you and feels good while you're reading it. Have an open mind while reading the book. It's not that action packed. It can sometimes seem dull, but remember you're reading it for the message not the thrills. At least that's what I felt while reading it.
