NVMe storage made easy on the Pi 5
Picked this up to go with the Geekworm case for a Raspberry Pi 5 home assistant build, and it does exactly what it’s meant to. Fits cleanly, no alignment issues, and once installed it just worked – the Pi recognised the NVMe drive without any drama.Performance is solid, much faster and smoother than running everything off an SD card, and it feels like it really unlocks what the Pi 5 can do. Combined with the case and active cooler, it makes for a tidy, reliable little setup.If you want proper storage on a Pi 5, this board is a no-brainer.

Works good, but try your best to confirm compatibility before purchase
Quite a neat little addition to the Pi and boasts potential 2-3x speed increase compared to a USB caddy for an NVMe.Only downside is it didn't work with the SSD I was using initially and it wasn't obvious what the issue was. After some Googling, I found a comment from a user referencing material (I couldn't find) that said the particular Phison (?) NVMe controller could sometimes not function correctly with the hat.After changing out to a new SSD, it just started working perfectly at 8GB/s.

Easy to fit. Bought with a cheap 512Gb NVME M2 (Fikwot) and I am now launched into the 4th dimension of Pi'ing. I don't think that is a word but, you know what I mean.I thought it didn't make much of a difference at first. Then when I changed my mind about what OS to use, I booted from the SD card again and it was so slow. Booting from this is considerably faster. Well packaged and works perfectly.Also bought a UGreen USB-C caddy for the NVME and you can use Pi Imager straight to the drive in the USB caddy to install. Then just put the drive in here and you are ready to go.

Works, but I haven't tried NVME boot. If I was to buy again I would get the one that allows 4 NVME devices, so I could use it as a NAS.

La Pi5 es rápida, la he probado con SSDs y M2 (SATA y NVME) a través de USB3 con adaptadores. Pero con esta placa usando el PCIe3x1 directamente las cosas están a otro nivel. Va todo mucho más fluido y responde antes. Hasta arrancar el firefox por primera vez se nota rápido (2-3s). He leido que NO se recomiendan discos con controlador PHISON (debido al firmware de la pi5). Yo he puesto un Samsung 970 Plus de 500GB, así que no puedo opinar, solo que con el mío funciona bien. Alcanza velocidades en lectura y escritura en torno a los 700/800 MBytes/s, un flipe.La placa en sí es pequeña y compatible con el disipador oficial de pi5. Deja sitio para que la pequeña turbina coja aire, espacio libre para los GPIOS, un diodo azul de actividad, y un conector de 5v (que no he necesitado usar). Trae todos los tornillos y elevadores necesarios para su instalación. Si tienes la suerte de usar una caja a la que sobre algo de sitio por arriba podrás instalarlo sin problema como ha sido mi caso.Se podría instalar al revés por debajo de la pi5, simplemente girándolo y usando unos separadores adecuados, aunque no lo recomiendo porque el calor del Nvme iría a parar directamente al procesador y RAM. Y recordemos también que el cable FCC es cortito por una razón.Debido a que uso una carcasas metálicas la WiFi nunca me ha ido demasiado bien y tiro de cable, asi que no sé si poner esta placa encima afecta a la WiFi.Una placa bien pensada que permite llevar la Pi5 al máximo nivel. Recomendada 100%.

Funziona come dovrebbe. Ho seguito un tutorial online per assicurarmi che lo sto montando nel modo corretto ma è abbastanza facile. La temperatura della mia SSD stra attorno ai 39-43°C usando ventola e case di metallo di Geekworm

Excellent RPI board
Excellent RPI board; I used it for building my Jeedom platform and it works great . It is a high quality board, it is running for years now 24/7 and never got a glitch. The layout is clever and so much better than competition.

Not working properly
It got disconnected all the time, I run Disk check on the NVMe and works perfect, I change the PCI cable and keep disconnecting randomly

Raspberry pi 5 resmi soğutucusu ile uyumlu, şuan ikisini birlikte sorunsuz kullanıyorum ancak FPC kablosu soğutucu fanın önüne denk geliyor haliyle soğutucu FPC kablosuna sıcak hava üflüyor, uzun vade de bir sıkıntı olur mu bilmem ancak şu an düzün bir şekilde çalışıyor.
