Best Coffee-Drip Strainer I Own!
I own several coffee-drip/pour-over strainers; however, this strainer is, by far, the best one. It is well-constructed, it somewhat quickly and effectively strains my coffee, leaving no coffee grinds and very little sediments, and is easy to clean. It simply detaches from the bottom, for easy cleaning, and, I’m assuming, if you’d prefer, for use without the base, but it reattaches just as easily, as well. Note: The strainer will strain coffee slowly or quickly, depending on the coffee grounds. From my experience with several strainers, including this one, coffee will strain quickly with the initial pour, but will strain slower as the coffee grounds become completely wet and cements to the sides of the strainer. This seems almost unavoidable. I am extremely happy with this strainer and highly recommend it to other coffee lovers.

Finally, an excellent metal filter.
I have had a number of metal filter over the years, and they were universally a waste of money. When I saw this one and I had to try it out of curiosity. Finally, one that works and will last. Unlike the old single layer etched metal and plastic that allowed the grounds and the water to flow through far too rapidly and created a weak sludgy brew, this filter element is an extremely fine screen. The screen does a good job of filtering the sediment and the inner and out etched layers protect the screen. I have a good burr grinder and can adjust the soak time by adjusting the grind. Coarser to drain faster, finer to drain more slowly. I suspect that if you have a blade type grinder, the dust they produce could clog the screen. This might explain the problems some people are having. For me, I get a nearly perfectly clean brew with soak times similar to paper filters. The result is very good coffee. An important tip: Do not try to clean the filter by running water into the cone and brushing. Instead run or spray water on the outside with the brim facing down. It will be clean in seconds with virtually no effort except rinsing the sink. The cup top base works with any normal mug or thermos. I made a more stable base for my particular thermos in the photo, but it was not really needed. The construction is perfect. The cup to base is solid and easy to take on and off. All materials seem first rate, and the 3-layer construction should keep the filter screen intact forever for any normal use. To give an idea of the fineness of the screen, I included a photo the lines on the ruler are millimeters.

Excellent!
I made my first cup of coffee in it this morning. It was perfect--not bitter, with only the finest of grounds in the bottom of my cup at the end. Before, I was using a different, single-layer metal filter from another pour-over rig (that carafe broke, so I had resorted to using a Mason jar), but I wanted a dripper that would sit directly over my coffee cup. This one has much finer holes than that one. By comparison, it takes a little longer for the water to drain through this one (though not a long time, as some reviewers have said), and this means that the contents of the cone flood as I am pouring (at least at the rate that I pour). I feared that this would make my coffee bitter due to prolonged contact between the water and the coffee grounds, but actually I think it had the opposite effect and resulted in a more balanced brew. This filter is a little more of a process to clean, but the included brush helped, and now it's as good as new, ready for my next cup. One caveat is that I didn't try to detach the base; it wasn't easy to pull apart, and I didn't want to dent it or bend it, so I will just keep it together if I can help it. All in all, this is a quality, well-designed dripper, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys or wants to try pour-over coffee.

Slow but robust
I really love the design of this coffee dripper, how the top snaps into the bottom. I have used the metal filters that are permanently riveted at the junction of the base and top, and they always end up breaking on me. This one doesn't break because it just comes apart. Very cool! The problem is that something about this filter does not let the water flow through freely enough. Maybe it's the third layer of metal mesh, because I switched to Hario's metal filter after I got frustrated with this one, and that one flows much faster. This filter can take 8+ minutes to seep 350g of water through the grinds. I think the coffee filter of my dreams would be this two-part base and top design mixed with a Hario metal mesh top.

Excellent filter, recommended!
Bought this as a replacement for my first metal coffee filter, after researching many. I’m delighted with it. It works perfectly — the flow is fast, but the brew isn’t thin, it’s plenty rich. All of these filters can get clogged over time, but the manufacturer gives good instructions, including that it should be washed and scrubbed each time. So far, so good. It seems very well designed! And the size is just right.

Durability and affordability!
It’s super easy to use. Just add coffee and pour over slowly. Simple to clean up and I like that I can take it with me when I travel so I always have a fresh cup of coffee. I got away from using plastics and this is a great way! I’ve had this for about 6months now and if it slows down on brewing I just soak it in vinegar and baking soda and it helps to clear out the screen.
