Simply brilliant!
This is brilliant and sturdy. I okay games off it and it runs most good enough, can struggle a bit with AAA but that's to be expected. The feel of the product is brilliant and carry it confidently around with me. Unlike some pricey alternatives that seem to give up if you look at them wrong. I love the handy cable holder built in to the body - designer needs a raise. And the dust cover for the socket gives added peace of mind.

Long lasting, reliable and handy 5TB
I have it for years now. The cable holder around it is extremely handy. Didn't drop it too many times and usually not on a concrete floor, but rather on the carpet, but it holds very well and still reads/writes data well. Since it is USB 3.1 it is no match for newer USB standards, but still fairly fast if you use it in exFAT.

ADATA HD710 Pro USB 3.2 Gen 1 External HDD
I picked up the 2TB black model at a price drop to £55 and what a bargain for a portable rugged external HDD!The Tech Stuff:The interface is USB 3.2 GEN 1 = USB 3.0 under the old naming scheme, and uses the odd-looking USB type B Micro connector (it really is shaped like a B) at the drive end of the cable, with a USB type A (colour coded blue) at the other end. You'll need to plug it into a USB 3.0 port to get the best result from its speed, but it is backwards compliant with USB 2 ports. It draws 5 volts power from the device you plug it into, so it doesn't require a mains cable. The data cable is on the short side, so I've given enough information above to source an alternative if that is a problem for your use case. The included cable neatly fits into a groove around the shell for transport. The drive inside is a 2.5 5,400 rpm model, although I don't know which brand because I haven't opened the shell. The outer shell is rugged, being both shock and water resistant, and comes with a range of colour banded options if you want to use that to distinguish one drive from another at a glance (or just to suit your tastes). It will work with modern game consoles once you format it with their in-built options.I hope I've given enough information to inform and help you with your purchasing requirements.

Great product
This is a good product and feels very rugged. I wanted something with high capacity for a cost that was not going to break me and pretty good speeds. It's portable, great value for money, and a very high capacity. Of course it would have been lovely to get an SSD drive of this capacity for the same price, but that's just not going to happen at the moment. I am really happy with it, it's double the size the drive I replaced, and usually writes files at 100 + megabytes per second which in all honesty is well fast enough for me.

Bought 2. Great storage but both faulty
I bought both a red and a blue one. The storage is great of course as is the outside protection. That's where it ends. The insides of these are both faulty. A few examples of why:1. 80% of the time it take minutes for it to be recognised by the computer.2. When they do get recognised they 80% of the time trip out and become unrecognised again so whatever you are transferring won't transfer3. When you are transferring, 50% of the time, the thing you are transferring freezes and won't transfer. The only thing which will make it transfer is starting all over again by removing the lead.If only they paid as much attention to the innards as they do to protecting the outer, this would be great. Sooooo disappointed.

Robust and reliable
I bought this knowing that I needed something tough as it gets thrown around in a bag. It’s fitted lots on it and has a great protective shell which is just what I needed. My only slight niggle would be a slightly longer connection cable but I’m sure I can buy one separately. Would buy again.
