I was not aware of this after reading all the reviews claiming these did not speed-chase/rainbow color change....I can 1000% confirm they do (and I have included a video) for proof...but it all hinges on you getting that update!! As for mounting the strip, I did not peel off the sticky backing on the LED strips, I only used the clips for my application and that was more than enough. I can't attest to their adhesion but the clips stuck on just fine. Make sure you're working with a clean surface first. The reason I did not use the adhesive backing is so I can move these around later if I want, and not damage them or the furniture they are currently on.... Additionally..connecting to, and setting them up in the GOVEE app worked just fine for bluetooth! IMPORTANT!! These are not Alexa/Home compatible. They are Bluetooth ONLY!! (Very rare indeed) - So a couple days ago, my mom was at walmart and bought some cheap $5 RGB light strips (Monster Multi-Color USB LED Light Strip with Remote- 6.5ft/2m) which came with one of those old and ugly looking controllers. She has NO experience at all with these things and horribly placed and when I tried to fix it, it broke instantly. Very cheap and 1 time use lights. However, I thought my little brother deserved something long lasting and way better since I love my brother, he's not spoiled, and he gets amazing grades in school since I teach him as well. I keep my 4.0 GPA even today in college. So for the extra price for these Govee lights, we immediately fell in love with them the next day upon 1 day delivery. It's easy to set up, premium made material, you're able to adjust freely without concern of breaking it, comes with clips you can use but honestly you won't need them, and you can use the smooth app on your phone. Not laggy and works instantly (just follow the instructions to pair with blutooth). We were playing music and it's so damn beautiful. He loves the Rainbow effect while playing video games. Hope it'll last a long time for him. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ There's no doubt, she will be seen and have fun doing it! *by B***M on July 22, 2023* My wife uses a power wheelchair when having to walk long distances. The problem is in the evening when it gets dark, people can't see her. I've tried a couple other LED light strips to light up the bottom of her chair, but both failed in a short period of time. I paid a few dollars more for this one and glad I did because it seems much better built than the cheap previous ones. Only time will tell. I like the tackiness of the adhesive. It seems to hold well. But I did use zip ties in crucial areas since most of the bars I ran it across were round instead of flat. The manual (yes, it really does come with a manual) shows how to loop around a corner which really came in handy. The Govee is meant for the back of a TV but since it's waterproof and shorter than most, I thought outside the box and saw it as the perfect LED Light strip for her chair. What really drew me to the Govee is the ability to use an app instead of a cheap remote. On both previous strips, the remote had to be in very close proximity to the receiver, which meant she could not sit normal in the chair and change the lights. She had to lean over and aim the remote under the seat to adjust the lights. The Govee app uses bluetooth and does not have this problem. My wife loves the app because it comes with many saved preset themes ie. Christmas, Halloween, Party, Fireworks, New Years Eve...etc. Each of these use different colors and different rotations/blinking. There's no doubt, she will be seen and have fun doing it! The app also allows the user to choose their own colors and strobing or just select one solid color. The one minor detail she wishes the app had is the ability to create/save her own theme for later use. (hint to programmers) Important Note: the Govee LED Strip does not come with any kind of power source. There's no battery pack. It's made to plug into the USB port of the TV. All it has is a normal USB Type-A connector. This is the normal rectangular end that would plug into a charger plug. It seems we have all kinds of external USB batteries around the house, so one of these will be dedicated to staying with the chair. We just have to remember to recharge the external USB when we charge the chair.
