I love this phone. Unique selling points were noted before I decided to buy. The first is Aesthetic. For a feature phone, I think it's the best looking of the lot. Nice big buttons make mistakes a thing of the past. It takes me back to the days of the 1990's, it is nostalgic, but it's flatter and wider build doesn't feel like a burden in my pocket. It makes me feel a connection to the past, with a modern twist.The smooth soap-bar shape with curved edges just feels and looks better than other designs. The official IP68 rating against water and dust ingress positions it well as a work-phone and more robust than typical.the charging port has a inbuilt dust cap, handy if you want to keep dust out from being kicked up on building sites and the removable battery means you basically have unlimited run time if you carried enough batteries with you.AGM have done well to encapsulate mixing the old with the new. That's exactly what I was missing, a phone that just does calls and texts, the faff is kept to a minimum.I have seen the trend of people wanting less distractions from their phones to be more focused. That doesn't entirely apply to me as I will explain shortly, but it is refreshing.Next we have it's 4G capability in a simple phone format makes it a clear winner 🏆 above brands who still insist on 2G which is being phased out almost everywhere. The old 2G feature phones will become bricks in enough time. From AGM (A brand I haven't heard of in the mainstream) they did well to consider future proofing.The "software" is very low fuss. In all of about 5 minutes, I am familiar with it, making the phone user-friendly. No chat apps here. No room for apps. No need. It's a compliment to the smartphone. I recommend having both formats.This brings me to talk about what sealed the deal was that I found ways to start using my smartphone to make money, reducing it's smart features down to one's of economic permission, such that allowed me to write this review.It isn't the case that I dislike smartphones, but I've come to realize I lost the phone function, not physically, but through doing business on there. The information on them makes mine incredibly valuable and I am scared to take mine out of the house.The sound quality is clear when calling, I worried I might have to take it back when a call was muffled at first, I would soon discover this was a signal issue, the handset level microphone is very clear. Of course you can make your own recordings on it if needed like a voice memo, these were satisfactory, but I have dedicated audio equipment already, I'm not really bothered by this. Music options included if you get a micro SD card although I personally prefer the vast options provided by streaming.The weight of the phone is light and does not intrude, after a while you'd barely notice yourself carrying it.And so, I needed a work phone, one that is relatively cheap, does not hold my business information on, and if ever I was threatened to hand stuff over, the security and peace of mind offered by for the M9 is second to none,The only thing I dislike is the 2mp camera which seems arbitrary to add-on just because, I'm not really sure what use it has in the era of 8k but of course, you don't buy this for the camera.Overall, It does 2 things really well which is calls and texts and is well suited as a "work phone" in the workplace. The risk of it being stolen is low (ideal) even if it is lost/stolen it's not a total disaster, you can buy 10 of these for the average price of a midrange smartphone, and it will serve it's core function perfectly.I can definitely recommend the AGM M9 for anyone who is allowed to carry a "work phone" in the workplace such as logistics, construction, retail. You need to be contactable but not distracted or in my case, contactable when you're other smart devices have sensitive business info on them then maybe The AGM M9 is for you. Would definitely buy again! A unique find. Thankyou.

Phone arrived quickly we'll packaged and was easy to set up and use.

Despite what the makers say, this is NOT a phone for seniors.I bought it for my 82 year old mother and there is a litany of things wrong with it that makes it unuseable for her, leaving her shut out and cut off from others.1. Charging.I had to use a kitchen knife to pry off the cover to put the charging cable in. A knife, because I couldn't open it with my fingers. For an 80+ yr old that makes it impossible, absolutely impossible to remove and replace so it is secure.2. Text.Whoever designed the texting software. No, no. It couldn't have been one person, it had to be a committee. There are so many steps and hoops to jump through before you send a text it is insanity. It takes emailing and texting and smashes them together, adding not subtracting. I don't know how it got OK'd.3. Center button.The button used to navigate around the menus is black and without any directional markings on it. Black button on a black phone, no arrows. The button to confirm is situated in the center of the directional pad, again, black button with no markings, on a square black pad on a black phone. Ridiculous to expect an elderly person to know what the heck is going on.

I purchased this unit, because it said simple to use and waterproof. This was form my MIL who is not gentle with new technology, her last mobile died thanks to rust on the battery (no comment). Anyway, purchased this one through Amazon Warehouse needed it in a rush, but the words waterproof and dropable caught my eye. It appears to be sturdy and simple to set up, shame the inner battery compartment to make it waterproof was missing, but she still needed the unit so I've kept it. Cheap at the price and will hopefully last longer than her previous unit. I would like to say that for 'old people' the use of arrow keys need to be larger and more obvious. If you design a phone for older people then I would suggest using older people who are less dextrous to try them out. Plus the waterproof plug for the recharge port. Nice idea to include a spare, but can be difficult to remove if your older. Don't get me wrong, nice phone for people less inclined and don't need all the bells and whistles of modern smart phones.

In my continuing quest to avoid the 24/7 connectivity and instant answers a Smartphone provides, I bought this phone as a replacement for my weeny Nokia. It's nice to have a phone which is a bit more substantial and weighty. I live in a very rural and hilly area and intitally I did have a problem with the 4g signal - once I switched the network type to 3g/2g Dual Mode I got a far better signal - 4 bars rather than 1 to 2! I did this by Settings / Connections / Network Type / 3g 2g Dual Mode. Lovely and clear now for me and for people I call. This phone is very easy to use and is just right as a tool for calls and texts.

I have had this phone for 6 months now and the battery life has definitely gotten worse. I only use this phone very once or twice a day for calls only and at the start the battery lasted 4 full days on a charge (which was good) it now lasts less than 1 day on a full charge!I’m not optimistic this phone will be any use in another few months. I’ll avoid in future.

Great phone, very solid and robust. Love that it’s more waterproof than normal phones. Big buttons and the sound is great. Exactly what I was looking for as my mum needed something simple to use and that she could hear well. I’d definitely recommend.

I’ve been wanting to go back to a simpler phone because my current phone (Samsung 24 fe) just feels too bloated and noisy. The AGM phone fits right into that. The design is very simple and suprisingly really light. Reminds me of my old nokia. The display also impressed me as I was expecting something ancient. Functionally, it does exactly what you need, nothing extra. Network coverage is great for calls, just no option for wireless earphones. The notches make it easy to pop off the back and swap SIMs, which is actually really convenient. The price is a steal honestly, no-brainer. It also uses USB-C like my main phone, so no need for a different charger. If this somehow had a QWERTY keyboard, I honestly couldn’t ask for more.

The phone worked only 1 day and the product is useless

Avec le AGM M9 4G, on revient 20 ans en arrière, il est conçu pour offrir un usage simple et accessible, tout en étant robuste et étanche.Pour les utilisateurs recherchant un appareil sans fonctions complexes, c'est l'idéal, un téléphone et c'est tout.Dotés de grandes touches, très agréables sous les doigts et d'une interface claire, il permet de passer des appels et d'envoyer des SMS facilement.Sa conception résistante à l'eau est surprenante dans cette gamme, ça peut en faire un choix sympa pour les environnements difficiles.L'autonomie est excellente, mais il n'intègre ni Wi-Fi ni bouton SOS dédié pour les personnes âgées, seuls points faibles.Bref, un téléphone fiable et fonctionnel pour ceux qui recherchent l'essentiel sans compromis sur la solidité.

Au niveau du contenu, nous avons 2 batteries (une dans la boîte et une directement dans le téléphone), un câble USB-C et aussi un adaptateur secteur, ce qui est plutôt rare en ce moment. Le câble est assez rigide et de bonne qualité, ce qui correspond bien à la principale caractéristique du téléphone "la résistance". J’apprécie beaucoup la batterie de rechange pour deux raisons. La première, évidente, est de pouvoir changer de batterie dès que la première est vide, ce qui augmente grandement l’autonomie globale. La seconde est liée à la durée de vie, car nous savons que les batteries s’usent au fil des recharges. Sur un téléphone classique, il faut démonter pour la remplacer, mais ici il suffit d’ouvrir l’arrière et de changer en deux secondes.Niveau design, on a un téléphone à touches plutôt sobre mais très robuste et épais. Le téléphone est lourd, les touches sont grosses (parfait pour les grandes mains) et l’écran est plutôt grand. L’effet brossé à l’arrière est agréable au toucher, et les ports de recharge sont protégés par un cache en plastique (un deuxième cache de rechange est fourni dans la boîte). Une fois la partie arrière retiré, on a une seconde protection et derrière la batterie se trouvent deux ports nano SIM ainsi qu’un port microSD.Une fois allumé, le téléphone propose de régler la date et il est prêt à l’emploi. On peut directement passer et recevoir des appels. Il y a deux raccourcis, un pour les menus et un autre pour les contacts. Dans le menu, on retrouve les fonctions classiques : journal d’appel, messages, multimédia, profils, caméra, applications, mes fichiers et paramètres. Comme d’habitude avec ce type de téléphone, écrire des messages est assez laborieux puisque le clavier n’est pas alphabétique. C’est faisable, mais pas pratique.Concernant la caméra, ce n’est clairement pas le point fort. L’image est pixelisée et trop sombre. Elle reste utilisable pour de l’appoint, mais ne vous attendez pas à des résultats exceptionnels.Pour la partie multimédia, j’ai testé la musique et le son est désagréable sur des morceaux énergiques ou avec beaucoup de basses, car le haut-parleur a du mal à les restituer. Sur des musiques plus calmes et acoustiques, le rendu est correct sans être exceptionnel. Je conseille de brancher un casque ou des écouteurs pour une meilleure expérience. J’ai aussi constaté quelques ralentissements en changeant rapidement de musique.Le téléphone propose également une fonction radio (uniquement avec écouteurs branchés), qui fonctionne bien avec recherche automatique des stations.Pour la lecture vidéo, j’ai testé un fichier MP4 mais le téléphone n’a lu que l’audio, pas l’image. Le lecteur d’images et le dictaphone fonctionnent sans problème.Parmi les autres fonctionnalités, on retrouve un calendrier, une calculatrice, une horloge avec réveil, le Bluetooth et une lampe torche (plutôt efficace).Passons à l’écran : il est grand, ce qui est un bon point, mais la colorimétrie est trop sombre et le téléphone manque de luminosité, surtout en extérieur. J’aurais aussi aimé de meilleurs angles de vision.Côté appels, rien à redire : le haut-parleur principal est clair et compréhensible, le micro aussi. Le haut-parleur secondaire est correct pour les appels, mais pas pour écouter de la musique.Enfin, pour la batterie, même sans compter celle de rechange, l’autonomie de base est déjà très bonne.Pour résumer : un téléphone robuste, simple, avec une bonne autonomie, idéal pour appeler et envoyer quelques messages. Ses points faibles sont la caméra et l’expérience multimédia, mais il remplit très bien sa fonction principale.

I've been looking for a dumb phone for when I go hiking in order to leave my smart phone in my pack and save its battery for when its truly needed. I wnat to be reachable when I'm hiking but I don't need all the other features of a smartphone when I'm out. This AGM M9 4G is great for my use case. The quality of the phone does feel on the lower end compared to today's smart phones but its comparable to the old candy bar style phones from the 2000s. The phone is larger than I expected but I think the size is ideal for the phone. It fits nicely in my hand and allows me to manipulate it fully with one hand. Its comfortable to hold during phone calls due to its size and how light it is. The keypad is very responsive and the large buttons make it easy to read and make the buttons easy to press. This would be great for the elderly person in your life that would like to be reachable at all times but doesn't want a smartphone.The battery also seems to last forever. What's even better is that there were 2 batteries included in the one I received. I could easily have this phone with me, left on for almost 2 weeks, before I would ever need to plug this thing in. It also comes with a replacement cover for the USB-C and 3.5mm jack in case the one that's on the phone breaks. I have no concerns of the cover breaking but it is nice to have the extra one to ensure the ports stay protected even if the cover breaks.I often swap my SIM card between this phone and my smartphone. While it's not as simple as on my smartphone, it's not difficult either. You just have to remove the back cover and then the battery to access the SIM card.The phone supports 4G/LTE, so there are no concerns about it becoming unusable due to the discontinuation of 3G in Canada. The operating system is easy to navigate and fairly intuitive. It can be used through the direction pad on the phone or through pressing numbers to select the number menus. The phone has FM radio, customizable profiles, auto power on/off, a voice recorder and a bunch of other features that are nice to have on this style of phone, just in case. The display is bright and easy to read even in direct sunlight. The included flashlight on the top of the phone is a nice touch. The light is quite bright, it wouldn't replace my personal flashlight but its so simple to activate by holding down the 0 key that it can be more convenient than pulling out a flashlight when the phone is already in your hand. This phone also has bluetooth, which is another good feature since it allows me to pair it with a headset for talking handsfree as well. The phone also includes a charger and cable.Text messaging is fairly easy if you had a cellphone in the 2000s. You press the number keys that include all of the letters in the word you want to spell and the built in dictionary will suggest a word that contains those letters. The first word is often the word you want to type and you simply hit the space key (O) and beginning typing the next word, if it's the word you're looking for you can scroll through the list and select the correct word. It may take some getting used to if you've never typed a message before but for those that have it'll be like getting back on a bike after sometimes, it might seem a little unsteady but you'll pick it back up quickly.The one thing this phone is missing that would make it perfect for my hiking trips is GPS. Unfortunately, it's not included. For those who care, the camera quality is extremely poor—albeit somewhat nostalgic—but it doesn't bother me since I have my own camera equipment for my trips.I would recommend this phone to anyone looking to move away from smartphones and wanting a minimalist option, seniors who prefer not to use a smartphone, or as an inexpensive backup phone in case your main phone breaks. I use it as my primary phone on long hikes, and it meets my needs quite well.
