Updated review: I've been using this press daily for the last 2 weeks and I'm satisfied with the espresso shot I can manually pull with this press. It's great to be able to pull a shot anywhere without electricity as long as I also have a manual grinder. I have changed this to a 5 star review because I was able to perfect the espresso shot the more I used my new Flair manual espresso maker and new portable grinder. This doesn't replace a semi-auto espresso machine but I'm satisfied with using this as a portable solution for espresso!

I purchased this because my Nuova Simonelli Oscar II had a issue lately. Couldn't have my daily dose of cappuccinos until I figured out the issue and repaired it. This purchase is an insurance so when my Italian machine goes on the blink in the future I have a quality backup machine. I tested it and it takes 18 grams of finely ground home roasted espresso bean and produces as good a shot as the Italian Oscar II with outstanding crema. I purchased the machine and the case.

People doing review videos hyped this up to the point I ordered one. Just sent it back for a refund. The o-rings on the plunger were the wrong diameter and there was a stress crack in the stamped metal porta filter. Spend the money on the quality control of this rather than your video production teams and marketers Flair. Buy an aeropress as it's way less complicated and does the same for pennies compared to this.

This machine does what it advertises: it makes great espresso. For the price, you cannot beat it for home use. The obvious downside is that it is entirely manually-operated. After pulling a few shots, you can feel it in your arm, lol. It took me about 7 attempts of testing different grind settings with my coffee grinder to find the right size for the black portafilter, but once I found it, using the black one is easy. The red filter can be used for any kind of grind, which is easier for those who don’t want to fine tune as much.

There is a major design flaw in the silicone base used to preheat the chamber. The first time I used it I picked up the chamber and the bottom dropped out spilling hot water down the front of me. From then on I made sure to hold very intentionally onto the silicone cover. And today, after a year of use the handle broke at the neck. I guess had I purchased the more expensive model that is all metal I would still have it. In addition the piston broke a few months back so I ordered the metal version. Everything is now going in the trash unless someone needs parts, I am willing to mailing them to whoever. These machines are good only if you want to make one shot a day because it takes too much time and effort to do several. I have read that paper filter reduces or removes cafestol - "Cafestol, the fatty substance in the oil inside coffee beans, is the cholesterol-raising factor, and it apparently gets stuck in paper filters, which explains why filtered coffee doesn't increase cholesterol." ...... Yes, coffee can increase your cholesterol.

半年使用して、2ヶ月ぶりに使おうとしたら、プッシャーの底が壊れており、お湯漏れしました。 4万円で購入して、この耐久性は最悪ですね。 部品別に売ってくれているかどうか不明で、分かれば追記します。 どんぶり勘定での評価ですが、耐久性以外、オール5/5と考えていいので、誠に残念です。

Excellent for espresso. Start with red basket, move to black once you have dialed in grind size. I use 8g/single dose. Keep pressure around 6 bar/ letter "p" for balanced espresso. Spoon out crema for more balanced taste. Preheat for light roast.

This is robust and compact machine at the same time. Easy to operate and the espresso is pretty good. I like the fact there are 2 options for beginners and also more advanced people. Simply great product and also excellent customer support.

This is an excellent concept, gives an amazing flexibility to experiment and get high quality of coffee. Only (and most significant) issue is the durability. In my case rim of pressure gauge keeps breaking ( without any physical damage, and within first month of use). While another reviewer has broken main body. And now that I searched specifically there are plenty of similar reviews (on amazon us) for flair classic (bigger cousin of neo flex) where many users have complained of broken rim of pressure gauge. I have contacted the seller, for this problem let's see. I just wish I had seen all these reviews earlier.
