I recently picked up the LEGO Star Wars R2-D2 Building Toy Set (75379), and I couldn't be more thrilled with the experience from start to finish! GREAT SET. It is very durable and holds together after hours of play. It looks great on the outside and has a lot of detail. It is a buildable character and you can move the legs and head around and it is very fun. The DARTH MALAK minifigure in really good too. And it is great for any age.

Interesting build for this model. All went together well. Great quality. Helped that it was on sale at the time.

I bought this having already bought and built 75308. This set is about half the price of that set and about half the size, but I wouldn't necessarily say it's inferior. It has about half the bricks of the previous set and isn't as detailed due to its size, but for a much lower price point, that is to be expected. I like the smaller size and I think the details it does have looks good on it. The only thing I don't really care for is the accessories. The larger build allowed for the different Artoo arms to fold up into the body. The accessories here involve you taking off the panel and replacing it with the accessory. It's fine, but you run the risk of either losing the panel or losing the accessory. The middle leg also doesn't go up into the body, it attaches to the bottom. Probably harder to lose, though. This set doesn't have the black box of the other adult oriented sets, but I would say this set is probably more adult friendly than kid friendly. I don't have any kids, though. It was easier to put together, even with the technics skeleton. The skeleton of the bigger set is way more intricate, so this might be a little more kid friendly. I think regardless of whether or not you have the bigger set, this is a good set to get. Also, it comes with a Darth Malak minifigure (from Knights of the Old Republic) and an R2D2...which if you build and collect Lego Star Wars sets, you probably have a lot of by now. I'd love to see them make a similar set, but with Chopper.

What a fabulous LEGO R2-D2 building set! My 9 year old grandson is a huge Star Wars fan, just like his father, so he will love putting this together. LEGO makes high quality products, and my grandson has many thousands of pieces for all the toy sets he has. Excellent value, with 1050 pieces. LEGO always has great instruction for the kids to follow, so there will not be an issue when he sits down to start putting it together. And I feel this set will be educational for him as he works it out. The detail of this R2-D-2 is exceptional. I assume this will take him some time to build and put together, but he is really good at this art. He will totally enjoy it. Very pleased and highly recommend.

My son liked it a lot. He loves Legos. It's big and heavy. The only thing I didn't think is that the stability is somewhat insecure, because it stops on 3 supports and 2 of them are mobile (legs). It has many details. Very nice, it looks armed.

Just treat yourself and buy it. I'm almost never write reviews, so this says a lot that I'm writing one. This is one of the most impressive kits for the money. The mechanics of the joints are genius. I love legos, but don't like displaying them in main living areas. This one is a major exception. This is a freaking bomb conversation starter. I mean, who doesn't like R2D2?

Very happy with this. Made a nice addition to my Star Wars Lego collection. No issues with the build and it was the right size for my Lego display of Star Wars sets.

I haven't done Lego since I was a kit. I saw the C-3PO and R2D2 kits for under $150 each and thought I might as well add them to the collection of scifi stuff I have. I picked up both lighting kits as well. Assembly took me about a week, working one to two hours per day. That includes the lighting kit. There were no missing parts, although I did my best but all the parts were there. Instructions were a breeze. They number the parts bags and you open the bags when they tell you to. Once assembled I went back and disassembled enough to install the wires and lights. Both units came out very well, and look awesome. Very glad I picked them up.

The product is very detailed and has a lot of parts to it, but I thing I don't like is that the attachments aren't retractable, you have to stick them on and it's annoying to display like that. Otherwise it's good, solid 4/5.

Si no fuera porque en 1 día ya lo tenía montado, lo devolvería.... Una pena no poder reclamar diferencias tan abismales en precios. Aunque la figura final es bonita, por eso pongo 2*
