You know they put out less light going in
These bulbs ARE more efficient than your standard bulb. They are essentially lower wattage bulbs that have a "hotter" filament so that they put out more lumens... Just not as many as a standard bulb... but close. Ive ran these in a few cars, and my general review is highly positive. They put out a nice white light that is useful for visibility. The problem is that many modern cars use horrible plastic lenses which cloud up or yellow. In my experience, all is well until the lenses get too hazy or yellow. When that happens, for whatever reason, the lower power consumption bulbs just can't pull it, and there is a difference in visibility. That said, if you typically only drive during the day, or typically only drive on well lit and busier interstates and highways and roads if/when driving at night, and/or your low beams are always on fully as DRLs when your car is on, these are a good idea. They offer less power draw, which is good for your car's load and efficiency (though in reality you'll save only a few dollars in gas), likely less heat as a result, so can be beneficial, especially if you generally drive in conditions where you can use high beams often when visibility is poor. If you don't fit that situation, you may want to have some higher end, high-lumen bulbs, of course there is a cost and lifetime issue associated with that... As for savings, well... let's do the math... A regular bulb pulls 55W. So burning two of them is about 110W... 110W/14V=~8A. So on a 120A alternator, youre using around 7.5% of its capacity. Lets assume you drive 120000 miles with them on over the lifetime, at an average of 40MPH. That's 3000hours of foglights burning. 3000hr*110W=330000Wh or 330kWh. A gallon of gas is about 33kWh, but an ICE is only around 25% efficient, and an alternator is maybe 75% efficient. So, to get 330kWh you need to figure it out: 1 gallon of gas is 33kWh thermal, which is 33kWht*0.25kWhb/kwht*0.75kwhe/kwhb=6.18kWh electric /gal So to make 330kWh, youll need to burn 53 gallons of gas. Then at $3.50/gal, burning your lights will cost you $187 plus bulbs. If you save 20% of the power running these, you'll save around $36 in gas over the vehicle's lifetime. Not a ton, that's for sure.

awesome!
i have always been about keeping my car stock and with these bulbs, i just wanted my headlight to have stock output and thats what i got! ive had these bulbs on my car for about 6 months and i dont have proof of any energy savings or gas savings but if its saving me money over stock bulbs while lasting longer and keeping the same output and the same or even lower price than stock, i say its a win-win-win!! and that i say that makes a 5-star product.

One burnt out after 3 months.
I have a 2005 Honda Element. These were little brighter and a little whiter than the stock bulbs from the dealership, but one burnt out in 3 months. Went with Phillips X-Treme Vision.

Effenciency is the future. Nice headlights lights. Over 1 & 1/2 years of usage.
I installed these in my 94 Ford Explorer back in 4/2014- it's now 12/2015 and the lights are still going nicely. I think they are nearly as bright as stock when simply on, but not quite as bright as I would like them on high beams. All in all, a good long lasting bulb if you can follow directions for bulb replacement. Halogen bulbs should never be touched by hands- the oils left behind from your hand will cause the bulb to overheat internally when it's on, shortening the life expectancy. Theoretically, 20% more efficiency is a great thing. Without an amp gauge you will likely not notice it. The MPG's would inevitably be improved but hardly, if at all noticeable. There are far better ways to improve mileage. I have also replaced many other interior and exterior bulbs to LED's. These changes to efficient lighting may preserve my battery and charging system longer from maintenance.

Only lasted 5 months.
I bought these and installed them in March. I picked them because the low power draw and brightness should mean they last longer. However, at only 5 months, these were shortest lasting lights I've ever used. Other brighter bulbs like Sylvania XtraVision have lasted at least a year. I only turn my lights on at night or in the rain so most days driving to and from work they are never used. This low price is a bust considering how often they will need to be replaced.

These bulbs are awesome.
I took a lot of time to select the option for my car. Before my light bulbs just last like 3 or 6 month and the light quality was poor. With these ones still working and the ilumination is awesome. I recommend these Bulbs.

Bright and easy
I can't speak for the long term use of the lamps, but I put them on my 10 year old Subaru and they are brighter and clearer then my two year old car!
