Then, you can easily make a tie-off knob by wrapping the material around a small rock, and a rubber band to hold it in place. It effectively kept the rain off and gave me a bit of dry space to hang out. Anyway, I’ve also used them as a ground tarp (nice to have a clean, dry place to sort gear), a poncho, and of course, a blanket (even indoors, when visiting places that don’t provide enough bedding for cold nights.) They are reusable; if you fold them carefully, you can even get them back into the provided bag. I always carry one or two (one for shelter, one for a blanket) when hiking or cycling.
