If not for a TP-Link PD, check before you buy!
Important to note from the outset that this review is NOT intended as a criticism of this TP-Link Switch per se. Rather, it is a warning that not all PoE devices listed as adhering to the 802.3af/at standard are compatible as, confusingly, there are alternative wiring configurations. All TP-Link products use, I now know, Alternative A, whereas those from other manufacturers may not. Hence this Switch was unable to power my Ubiquiti LOCO5AC NanoStation PtP WiFi Link because all Ubiquiti products, as far as I am aware, adhere to 802.3af/at Alternative B. So, unless you are using exclusively TP-Link, and unlike me, check for compatability before you buy.

Beware: it may say PoE+ but it fails to drive many components that need that standard.
Beware. It's a cheap 1G switch. But, for all it claiming to be POE+ and capable of 62W power budget. In fact it underperforms significantly. The EAP615 Wall, another TP-Link item works as a switch and an access point but the pass-through POE, which requires POE+, which the LS108GP should provide, does not work. I thought it might be just one of those failures but the same problem exists on other similar devices. I finally decided when the switch, handling a power of 19W, well above the devices rating, simply wouldn't provide sufficient for an access point that required POE+. So, regard it as a cheap POE switch, but not as a POE+ switch.

small desktop gigabit Switch with PoE
Quite good littel switches for desktop use. Suited to most domestic or home-office needs, with all ports offering PoE at gigabit speeds.

Great new addition.
Been looking for a few affordable small switches for my Omada network, so these have been a God-send. I bought this and also a poe version from a different site. The controller immediately saw them, and adoption was a breeze. I have a lot of TP-Link network gear that I have been running for years with zero issues. Highly recommend

Works well, but mains lead ridiculously about a foot long.
Works fine as a POE switch, but the mains lead about a foot long and its not a standard kettle lead so you can't replace it easily?
