Extremely capable AP- Business Grade
I have recently embarked on a project to completely overhaul our home network. It has been rebuilt from the ground up almost exactly how I want it and wish I had done a long time ago but put it off because of the time and expense of doing so. For context, I consider our household to be a "pro-sumer" so our network is definitely over the top for your typical household. This AP is excellent but complete overkill for household use (unless you're a tech geek and going crazy in this area is fun for you). However, for businesses, it is a solid choice depending on the size and density of connectivity needed. It is fast and very capable. All that aside, I've had to replace a few pieces of hardware that I thought were much more capable than they turned out to be when I really dug into them. One of those being our access points. We had already purchased an AP25 to use with an isolated VLAN after doing a ton of research and we love it. We have another AP that we've been considering replacing so everything could be Aruba for ease of management and this AP32 seemed like it would be fun to try out. Like I said, it is total overkill but it is a truly top notch AP. For our purposes, another AP25 is completely fine and somewhat future proofed. The AP32 kicks that up a notch with it's speed, multi-bands, ease of management, VLAN tagging capabilities, monitoring, etc. These APs are super easy to set up- honestly, running the cables is the most annoying part but with power over ethernet, that makes it much easier. All management and set up is via the Instant On app. There are some menus that aren't exactly intuitive so you have to play around with it a bit and dig in to find what you're looking for but overall, I'm very impressed with this over the previous APs that we've used. Admittedly, I am comparing apples to oranges with business grade vs. consumer/light prosumer grade but this has all the features you could possibly want and it's FAST.

Solid stability, must buy PSUs
Setup took a little while but wasn’t difficult. Chat gpt gave me tips for optimizing my gateway as a pass-through, so that the Aruba system can manage the connection. It’s far and away better than the eero that it replaced, and not much more expensive. It’s a little bit dumb that it’s not sold with a power supply- if you don’t have PoE (and most home networks don’t), you’ll have to buy power supplies separately (I deducted a star for that).

Powerful WiFi, But Not for Your Average Home
The HPE Networking Instant On AP32 is a compact powerhouse, perfect for handling heavy traffic and the latest bandwidth-hungry devices. It's clearly designed for businesses, though you could technically use it at home if you really wanted to. It fits seamlessly into an existing Instant On network, which is a plus for businesses already using HPE gear. I was surprised by how small it is! It doesn't come with a power adapter, but you can power it with a PoE+ switch or a standard 12V/1A DC adapter (I had to dig one out of my spares). It's surprisingly heavy for its size and feels well-built. The back seems to be made of some kind of metal alloy, probably aluminum, which helps keep it cool even under load. My other access points get way hotter! It also includes a handy mounting bracket for easy installation. Performance-wise, this thing is a beast. My 1.2 Gbit internet connection is actually the limiting factor now! If you have a ton of users or need to support the latest WiFi 6E devices, this AP will handle it with ease. The web interface is fantastic - it's packed with network management features, yet it's still easy to navigate. However, there's a catch: you can only have two of the three available frequency bands active at once. This means you can't use the super-fast 6 GHz band alongside both 2.4 GHz (for range) and 5 GHz (for older devices). It's a bit of a bummer, but it's something to consider depending on your needs. Overall, the HPE Networking Instant On AP32 is a fantastic choice for businesses or anyone who needs to upgrade their WiFi to handle lots of devices and high bandwidth demands. For home use, though, it's probably overkill – unless you're running a serious home office or have a very demanding smart home setup. --- Product: HPE Networking Instant On Access Point AP32 2x2 WiFi 6E Indoor Wireless Access Point | Secure, Tri-Band, Future Ready | Power Source Not Included | US Model (S1T22A) (Power Adapter Not Included) ASIN: B0CRXGR2ZS

Aruba's AP32 Access Point offers 2.5Gb/sec uplink in office for Wifi 6E devices
This is a current generation wireless access point from HPE/Aruba, and it shows that they've been in this trade for a long time. This is strictly a commercial device, although some brave souls have tried setting up office-quality networks in their homes with these. It's intended to be installed on an Ethernet line (likely running behind ceiling tiles) and installed in a serial, parallel, or mixed layout, with each AP32 device handling traffic for one room or large area. AP32 has a dedicated 6 Ghz band for WiFi 6E, and expects you to run it alongside 5Ghz. This means it doesn't want to deal with older 2.4Ghz devices anymore. (In theory, you could enable 2.4Ghz, but the device only allows for 2 bands running simultaneously, and it doesn't make sense to support only this older protocol.) If you have an old endpoint that only supports 2.4Ghz, it's probably an IoT device that can be connected to another AP or to Ethernet. While not a cheap option, this is a reliable device that should be good for 3+ years (unless there's a revolutionary change to wireless standards in the meantime). While WiFi 7 is peeking around the corner, most modern devices are happily working with Wifi 6/6E speeds. AP32 is even better on the uplink side, and supports 2.5 gigabits/second transfer speeds (assuming your router is capable of handling that). AP32 comes with a two-year warranty, and excellent management and configuration software. If your office wireless network needs to be upgraded, make sure to consider this device and the product line. Easily recommended.

Perfect for WiFi crowded locations
My office is in a building with dozens of access points, and I wanted to provide our team with a more reliable solution. The HPE Networking Instant On Access Point AP32 has proven to be a robust and high-performing solution for enhancing my office network. As an IT enthusiast, I always look for top-tier equipment, and this WiFi 6E indoor access point delivers on all fronts. The setup process was straightforward, thanks to the intuitive Instant On app, which guided me through configuration quickly and without hassle. The app also provides real-time insights, making network management a breeze. Performance-wise, the AP32 shines. The 2x2 MIMO technology, coupled with WiFi 6E capabilities, ensures fast, reliable connections even in busy network environments. I noticed a significant improvement in speed and stability, especially with multiple devices connected simultaneously. Streaming 4K content and running high-bandwidth applications were smooth and lag-free. The additional 6GHz band is a game-changer, providing a less congested frequency range that dramatically improves performance in areas crowded with traditional 2.4GHz and 5GHz devices. The AP32’s build quality is solid, and its sleek, unobtrusive design blends well into any indoor setting. It also offers robust security features, giving me peace of mind knowing my network is well-protected. Overall, the HPE Instant On AP32 is a fantastic investment for anyone upgrading their wireless network to the latest standard, delivering exceptional performance and ease of use.

AP32 is pretty good if you did your research.
Easy to install and set up. UI looks very polished. My only gripe is that it takes around 5 minutes to boot up, which isn't an issue if you have a POE switch hooked up to a UPS. I feel like having only 2 of the 3 available bands isn't a big issue either since the target demographic will buy multiple APs which would cover all of the available bands. Roaming between 3 of these APs have been seamless and the bandwidth limit has been very useful for low priority SSIDs. Please do research before purchasing networking equipment or else you may be disappointed. I think this AP does its job well and seems to be reliable enough to support medium sized businesses.

A VERY capable enterprise AP
This is definitely an enterprise grade AP. I think it should be looked at as such. For an enterprise grade AP, this thing is surprisingly small. It’s quite hefty and feels high quality, but it’s definitely on the smaller side. So it’s quite easy to conceal its appearance. Performance has been good. As an enterprise AP, it’s more about serving quantities. Which it does. Personally I would look elsewhere for residential needs, but it’s great for enterprise. The web app allows quite a bit of management: You’re allowed to choose two radio frequencies as active (2.4Gh & 5Ghz, 2.4Ghz & 6Ghz, 5Ghz & 6Ghz). 5Ghz must be selected unless the AP is connected to the rest of the network via ethernet cable. Radio management allows you to select/deselect available channels in that selected frequency. You can also set the signal strength for that particular radio. Something that’s appreciated for a dedicated AP is the ability to set a primary DNS server for the AP. It allows you to monitor traffic history by content categories. All in all, it’s one of the better web management interfaces I’ve seen. There are still some limitations in your options, but there’s more options compared to most. So I do like it. I can definitely recommend it. But I do think it’s appropriately targeted at the enterprise segment. Because this is what it’s ideally for. Small business and such.
