The perfect portable AC unit for vertical sliding window
Most AC units are built for drop windows and unfortunately we have only sliding windows... I spend weeks shopping around online trying to find a way to get an AC unit to a sliding window that didnโt involve drilling sheets of wood to fill the open window above the unit. If youโre looking for something like that, look no further! This portable unit (after having it just a few days) is perfect. Here are some Pros: -extremely quiet. When itโs on, it sounds like a fan, unlike other window mounted units that rattle and make tons of noise. I can hear the TV perfectly and hold a conversation. You get used to the white noise. - really powerful. Three levels of power and all push out lots of air. -super easy to use the buttons. Very intuitive, you donโt need to read a manual to know how to change the settings. (It has a setting for Fan, AC, or Humidifier) -very easy to install. Just screw on the accordion exhaust tube to the back of the AC and to the expandable window kit and youโre good to go! - the window kit is perfect. This is the only portable AC I could find online with a kit that actually makes sense for larger windows. It expands anywhere from like 25 inches to more than 50. One of the pictures I took has the fully extended kit at around 52 inches long. I donโt know why itโs so hard to find a kit this good that comes with other AC units, but this was actually a selling point for me. Itโs not insulated, but the plastic isnโt flimsy. It locks in place at your desired length with little blue pins that are removable. - the exhaust tubes connector piece is angled to one side where it fits in the window kitโs oval hole, so you donโt have to worry about trying to smoosh it up against the windowsill. - cools down a room about 500sqft VERY quickly! Although it hasnโt really been put to the test with and extreme heat yet, I will update this review once 90-100 degree weather tools around. - overall, really well designed and thought through. Another review said it looks like EVA from Wall-E and it totally does - very sleek and futuristic. The unit is BIG though. Make sure you read the dimensions and weight in the description. Cons: - the exhaust tube needs a lot of clearance from the back of the unit, so it sits around 3 feet away from the wall (slightly annoying it isnโt flush with the wall but itโs not a big deal. - I wish there were sealant or foam around the window kit so it doesnโt leave a gap between the window and the plastic. You just have to buy some adhesive foam sealant to fill the slight gap (or use tape or something) - the unit looks sleek and futuristic, so they should have made the remote sleek and futuristic too. Just a plastic box with some somewhat unclear buttons and a non-backlit display screen. Nothing to look at and thereโs no place on the unit to store the remote when not in use.

Great product for the price! Highly Recommended!!
This is my second year with this portable ac unit and I absolutely think it works wonderful. It easily cools a 550sq space. I have put it in my living room and it has worked great. As another reviewer said it does give off an odd smell at first but itโs new and quickly the smell was gone after it ran for a few moments. I was impressed but how quiet it is especially compared to a window unit. Often I even had to turn the settings up because the room was too cold which I am not at all complaining because I was worried putting it in a larger room than the 400sq ft. Room size that it says it cools. I want to get a second one for another area of my house thatโs around 500sq ft. I would definitely recommend this specific brand and model. It exceeded my expectations! Other than the space it takes up as do all portable units I highly recommend it over a window unit especially if youโre not able to use a window unit or even have a crank window.

Attractive product.
I just attached this to my window and used it yesterday. I bought and oversized one to make sure it had plenty of cooling power and it appears to have plenty for my one upstairs room that is always 3-5 degrees warmer in the summer. That's the problem when you don't have a dedicated ac system for upstairs. Only 4 stars for 2 reasons. 1) The bracket for the window is poorly engineered but somewhat workable. I drilled 2 holes in the bracket (1 on each side) for 2 pins so the bracket would snugly fit in my window top to bottom. The bracket is thin so there is minimal insulation effect to keep out the outside heat and there is a gap between the window and bracket that I temporarily filled with thick tape. 2) They first sent me the 110WK model instead of what I ordered. Delayed several days in communicating the corrective process and indicated that I would have to return the first one before they would send me what I ordered. Thankfully, that didn't happen. Also, I had to take the product (75 lbs.) to UPS because they were going to charge me for pickup. Yes, as other reviews indicated, the exhaust hose is quite warm but that is to be expected since it is removing the heat from your room. Have you ever put your hand over the fan on your outside ac unit? I'm now looking forward to having a very usable upstairs room in the summer! By far the best bang for the buck.

Don't waste your money on this - Misleading Advertising
I bought this AC unit with so much hope. It had a good price and most important: it said it was able to cover rooms up to 550 sq. ft. I first received this unit 2 weeks ago with no remote control and no instructions book. However, I tried to use it anyway, but it didn't cool my apartment at all. But I thought that maybe it was a broken unit from somebody else (since it had missing parts), so I ordered a replacement. Today I got the new one. It looks fine. It has all its parts. Didn't work either. Long story short: I live in a small apartment (400 sq. ft.) and this "Air Conditioning" unit that is supposed to work in 550 sq.ft. rooms was not able to make the temperature drop ONE single degree. Not even ONE! Don't waste your money on this. Forgot to mention: if you want a noise-maker machine, this is perfect for you.

Quiet
I replaced a similar sized floor air conditioner with this model which was advertised as quiet operation. It is quiet, sounds like a regular fan in operation. I am unhappy with the coolness it produces. We have it in our bedroom and although it blows cool air it is not going to freeze you out set at the lowest 60 degree setting. It barely takes the temperature down 10 degrees after running all night. Our former air conditioner would have the room very cool after 2 hours. The bedroom is the only room it has to cool and it is not large. I think if I insulated the exhaust hose it would help but I did not do that with our old unit. I did not return and will keep using but am somewhat sorry I ordered this unit.

Convenient, works well
Great for the price. It was easy to install. The wheels and handles make it easy to move and store away for Winter. I set it up about two ft from the window and wrapped extra insulation as recommended. It was a breeze. I live in the mountains where it doesn't get extremely hot. In 95F humid weather, it kept my space, a large 400+ sq ft living room with high ceiling, comfortable. It maintained about 80F with a much lower humidity. It ran quietly and efficiently all season and I never had to empty the reservoir. I plan to get another for my bedroom.

Does not cool well
This product does not cool well. I have a 400sq ft room, sealed ever crack nook and cranny in the room, and the unit doesn't get below 75 even though it supposedly should go down to 60. Very upset by this. The only reason i gave it 2 stars is because it has a remote and a timer for shutoff. Bought this unit in May and its hard to believe it could already need a tuneup. Would not recommend.

Quietest 14000 BTU AC
I bought this AC because it has the lowest decibel levels. After using it for a month I can definitely say it is pretty quiet.. My sound meter reads 58 db at highest fan speed with AC on. Even though it is higher than the rated decibel of 55 - it is the lowest I have experienced for a 14000 AC. I had an LG and Haier before and both of them easily reached 70+ DB. In the sleep mode sound level drops to 50 DB. Cooling capacity is decent. My room is 400 sqft and it is able to cool it down even in the peak California summer. However, you might get disappointed if your room is anything bigger than 450 sqft and live in hot weather. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and would recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet effective AC.
