Paper-Feel Magnetic Screen Protector for iPad Pro 13-in M5/M4 | 2025/2024, Write and Draw Like on Paper, Detachable, Compatible with Tempered Film, Matte, Anti-Glare

I was wowed by how flawless and effortless was ESR's ipad pro 13 m4 screen protector, it's method of just pulling and done installation without any issues like dots, bubbles, or wiggly lines--that I was for sure going to purchase the paperlike magnetic screen attachment for my brand new ipad and apple pencil pro. And it did not disappoint. Great quality, does have a paperlike feel when using your apple pencil, and it installs in a quick minute. It performs well with my apple pencil pro and this is despite or inspite of having already also installed a previous ESR screen protector. No issues whatsover, and it does have also effortless removal/re-attach via magnets on top and bottom of the ipad screen. The package provides a transparent folder for, I presume, storing the magnetic screen when it is not attached to your ipad. It comes with everything like stickers for removing dust, cleaning etc, bubble removal wipes, etc. The alignment on the ipad is good but that's on how you manually align it. You can't really go wrong, just lift up and re-align if it is off. It also seems like it is easy to clean even when attached magnetically, but time will tell. My screen cover also continues to turn on and off when the cover on my case is closed and open. Using fingers on the paperlike screen also is normal, no issues. This is my 2nd paperlike screen protector, but my 1st one was the expensive one that is permanent. While that one does have great quality, I regret having it permanently on my old gen ipad. It works great with my older USB apple pencil but then I was stuck with a permanent dimmer screen because it was stuck on the ipad. You really don't have to buy that really expensive one to get the same texture like feel of the pencil/stylus. This one is adequate for me, for what I need, for creativity and for textured performance of my apple pencil pro. Also, I am glad this one is magnetic and removable, very convenient. Sometimes I want to use my ipad pro 13 inch m4 as a drawing canvas and sometimes I like the screen to have that OLED sheen for watching or browsing images. I don't know how long this particular magnetic screen will last since it will be bend a lot when removing and installing (or rather detaching routine in the long run)--but that's for future updates to post. For now, I am satisfied with any ESR products I've purchased for iphones, ipads, as well as for other tablets that I also have (non apple). I am also considering maybe purchasing the folio keyboard for my ipad since I am very pleased with ESR products.

EDIT: I am changing my review from 3 to 5 stars as I made a mistake in my original review. A big issue I had in my initial review was the line wobble on diagonal lines. However, I realized later that a big cause of the line wobble was actually caused by my tempered glass screen protector. I hadn't noticed because I'd been using smoothing in Procreate with that protector and turned it off to test the paper one. The paper one actually added next to no wobble on it's own, and I think it would be perfectly fine if used on its own. I'm giving it 5 stars because the rest of my complaints below have little to do with the quality of the product and more to do with flaws of magnetic paper protectors in general. I will leave the original review for those who want to know more about the flaws of using these kinds of protectors for drawing. However, this protector is good quality for what it is, has a good texture, and attaches to the screen well. TL;DR: The protector is well made and easy to install, but it has some flaws that, for me, make it unusable for drawing (which is a primary use case for this kind of protector). Keep in mind I tested this protector on top of a tempered glass protector. These flaws are 1. Bad line wobble on diagonal lines. You have to flick your pencil to get a straight diagonal line which is pretty unreasonable. 2. Visual grain is too distracting in my opinion. I still notice it when watching videos and on a bright white canvas it's very distracting. 3. Any fingerprints cause slick spots in the texture that cause your pencil to get stuck or slip when drawing over them. The screen needs to be wiped frequently. However, these things might not matter so much when using it for note taking, so I think it would still be good for that. I got this paper screen protector to use on top of my ESR tempered glass screen protector. I use my iPad for drawing, and dislike how slippery the glass is with the apple pencil. I'm unsure how much of the following problems are due to using two screen protectors, however, it's advertised to be compatible with a glass protector. My package was also not very protected, so it's possible it became a bit warped in the mail. I gently pressed it between some books for 24 hours prior to use to flatten it. Line Wobble: I had watched a review of someone testing this protector on top of a tempered glass one, and it seemed like line wobble was only an issue when drawing very slowly and diagonally. That was not the case for me. I experienced heavy line wobble on almost all diagonal lines. Diagonal lines were only straight if I drew as fast as flicking my pencil across the screen. Any slower than that, and the lines would at least start off with about a half inch of wobble if they did not turn out completely wobbly. It was definitely hard to ignore even in normal drawing. Fingerprints: This protector doesn't do much in terms of anti-glare or anti-fingerprints. Which is fine, except for one thing. I had issues when first testing the protector where some areas of the screen would seem to have some kind of valley or slippery spot. I would be drawing a line, and then suddenly my pencil would get pulled to the side. I originally thought my protector had gotten warped and had small waves in it or that some dust particles under the protector were making small bumps. However, after wiping the protector with a microfiber cloth, the slippery spots went away. It turns out that touching the protector can create small spots of oil that become very slippery compared to the textured surface. When drawing over them, the oil will cause your pencil to slip. For some reason, it's way more noticeable on this protector than glass. On glass, I am rarely affected by fingerprints on my screen unless it's really dirty. But with this protector, I feel like I need to wipe it anytime I use my fingers for a gesture control or there will be slick spots. This is really annoying when frequently using your fingers to move the canvas or color select. Clarity: This protector adds a noticeable grainy effect to your screen. It's not too terrible when watching videos or playing games, but in my opinion it is still noticeable when doing those things. When looking at bright white (like a blank canvas) it can be hard to look at. The screen turns very iridescent and grainy. Although, there's only so much they can do in that aspect. Texture: The texture is pretty good. I like that it's not too rough against the skin when using touch gestures. However, that also means that it ends up a little smoother than I'd like for drawing. Certainly better than glass, though I feel like the amount of grip you get in relation to how grainy your screen becomes is not equal. Installation: Installation was great. It was very simple to line up and I didn't have any issues with bubbles or dust despite only using a microfiber cloth to clean my glass protector. It fit well inside my case. I had also heard some say that you can feel the airgap between the paper protector and the screen a bit when using the pencil. I didn't notice this when using, it felt flush to my other protector.

Not for constant use, but a nice feel for drawing. I have a thick ballistic screen protector, and then use this on top. I also have a corner-protecting case, so I have to place this pretty precisely (it takes a few tries) to use it without feeling it come up. It could be a little stickier, but generally gave me the drag I was hoping for. It was a try-it-out situation, so I’m glad I know. Haven’t bought the brand name version, but would not after getting this, as it’s probably sufficiently comparable.

I have had 2 of these for two different ipads and they work wonders. I didn't want a permanent matte/paper screen protector all the time so this isperfect. The magnetic hold is great, easy to apply, no bubbles to worry about, it fits perfectly and doesnt side around while drawing. Comes with a 2 year warranty as well.

I love this thing. Feels great to write on. Doesn’t obscure my screen. Easily removable to clean and I have yet to scratch it. Installs in seconds. I haven’t broken it yet, and I can be careless. Best bonus: no stupid screen protector bubbles

This is the third cover I bought from ESR. Each time I have upgraded my tablet, I buy another. I love being able to safely remove the cover and later reinstall it. This ensures I get the best of both worlds. A protected screen and a great glossy display for watching movies. To be honest, it stays on most of the time. I also appreciate the fact that I never worry about bubbles on the screen. The writing experience with the screen proctor on while using the Apple Pencil is great. It adds just enough texture to keep the pencil from sliding while writing, dare I say, it is like paper. I highly recommend this screen protector.

So I’m going to start with the good stuff first. Good: 1) It really does feel like paper to the touch and when I’m using my Apple Pencil. 2) The magnetic hold is great! One of the strongest I’ve ever felt and it really holds on. 3) The packaging was amazing also and it was in excellent shape and condition when I opened it. 🍒 I had to mention the package because one of my mail carriers has no idea what “handle with care” means at all and she is pretty rough with all packages. Bad: 1) I can’t get it to fit on my screen properly without it having a gap between the actual screen and the protector itself. The main reason for the gap is the corners are too long and it won’t stay under the corners of the case. 🍒So for this I’m offering the company a little bit of advice since I have examined it very closely. If you could make the corners slightly shorter it will fit perfectly with a case on the iPad. It’s technically to long for the screen with a case on it but it’s not long enough to fit underneath the corners of the case so it won’t keep lifting up.

I am very happy with this product. Protects my IPAD screen.

Sabit bir ekran koruyucu folyo yapıştırdığınızda ise kağıt hissini bir miktar veriyor ama bu defa da video editlerken, yüksek kalitede film izlerken ekran kalitesinden fedakarlık etmeniz gerekiyor, biraz flu bir hale geliyor ekranınız. İşte bu magnetik mat folyo bu işi gayet güzel çözüyor. Sadece çizim yaparken takıyorum, film izlerken çıkarıyorum zahmetsizce. Magnetleri iyi tutuyor. Verdiği kağıt hissi de iyi. Ürünü yeterli buluyorum. İki tane aldım bir kaç ay önce. Hala ikinciyi kullanmadım.

Writing on iPad with this put on feels so natural. I never generally leave product feedback but I had to come and give a review for this. The only reason why I made a choice of buying iPad pro m4 instead of galaxy tab s10 ultra is because of this amazing product. Now I can use my iPad both for note taking/writing and watching media.
