SunGrow’s 50 Mini Catappa Leaves are premium, unprocessed Indian Almond leaves designed to create a natural tropical environment for freshwater fish. Each 2-inch leaf releases beneficial tannins that lower pH, enhance water quality, and promote fish health and breeding. Ideal for nano tanks and small bowls, these leaves provide precise dosing control while adding authentic aesthetic appeal and functional benefits to your aquarium.

## Description

Every hobbyist knows how hard it is to keep their fish comfortable and calm, especially with smaller fish species. But with a SunGrow pack of 50 mini almond leaves, you can get it. Shrimp, copepods, sparkling gouramis, cory cats and Oscars love it. Some of them use it as a feeding bowl. A few hiding behind it and sleep alternately in the shade of the leaf. Some turn it into a hammock and sleep on it. Watch your mysterious snail wear it as a hat. Each sheet measures approx. 2" and is ideal for smaller tanks. They make it easier to control the amount of tea water you want to bring into your aquarium. For a 12 gallon tank, insert about 12 leaves until the water reaches the desired colour or pH. When you do the water change, just add 5 leaves and the water will not become soft and the pH will remain stable. The water in our country ranges from 4.3 - 5.3 and these tropical or freshwater fish want a slightly neutral pH range (6.0 - 8.0). The low pH can adversely affect them, while the high pH could curl their fins. The Ketapang leaves from SunGrow strengthen fish scales. When you breed fish, Mini Catappa leaves also serve to provide fish with a safe place to anchor their eggs. These fish create a bubble nest and use this floating leaf to create them. Since you use real leaves, you don't have to worry about artificial dyes that may be present in bottled form. If you want to beautify your aquarium with catappa leaves, it is advisable that you place low light plants such as Anubia, Java Fern and desertcart Sword. Install driftwood so that the fish get the privacy of their own. It is ready to use as soon as you receive it by mail. Simply place a few leaves in your tank and do not clean them until they disintegrate.

Pour ma part j'apprécie ce produit car il permet d'obtenir tous les avantages de la catappa dans un format pratique et à un bon rapport qualité prix. Les feuilles sont correctes et bien emballées (voir photo). Dans l'eau, les feuilles sont "dures" et se dégradent très lentement. Dans 60l j'ai créé un petite "litière" de feuille, dans un coin (8 feuilles). La coloration est légère. Les occupants ont l'air détendus (impression ?) et ça fait un terrain de jeu pour les crevettes. Je le conseillerais pour "recharger" un petit bac, ou créer une petite litière de feuille dans un bac plus grand, le tout à petit prix. **Q: is this ok and good for the fancy guppies and fry guppies? thanks**
A: NO!  Don't do it, I thought I'd try some for my guppies too, thinking about the healing properties it has for bettas & betta fry.  But instead I lost about 100 guppy fry and around 20 of my adults! After, (should have done this prior !!) I  Googled it & found that there is something in the leaves that poison them.  I just use tap water that's been sitting out for a few days, same room temp. NO Catappa leaves.

**Q: A couple of leaves in my 5.5-gal tank crashed the pH from 6.8 to 6.3 in less than 12 hours.  How can I use leaves without pH crashes?**
A: Hello, Decreasing pH is one of the benefits offered by SunGrow leaves. If you don't want to decrease it, I would recommend using less number of leaves,Some experts recommend boiling the leaves to decrease the effect of tannins. You can try that and see if it works for your tank.

**Q: I have a 10 gallon aquarium with top fin silenstream filter. How many leaves to drop in for 1 smaller goldfish ?**
A: You could drop in a handful. There’s really no limit since the worst that really happens is the water gets very yellow. Though with even a small goldfish in this size tank you’ll likely be changing it out a lot since goldfish need a much bigger space since they produce a lot of waste and grow quite quickly.

**Q: large or small indian almond leaves**
A: Depends on the size of your tank. I would by the large if your tank is over 12 gallons. These leaves are great. You can also break the larger ones as well. Hope this helps. :)

I bought this as I wanted to add leaf litter to my aquarium, I added 5 or 6 leaves once a month with no issues, these are quite small maybe no bigger then 2 50pence coins put together, but they did exactly what I wanted them to, I believe they are good value for money and they didn't change the colour of my water.
