The fit and finish is that of an imported product. Even the screws are perfectly polished and precision fit. To be noted the adjustment is only for the height. The shaft will not revolve in any direction. The way to set it up is - Stand the central pillar upside down. Place the BASE over the holes so that the adjustment knob is facing one of the long sides. Fit the screws into all three holes WITHOUT tightening them. Now turn it right side up and align the top plate for fixing the four screws keeping the adjustment knob facing you. This is important as no horizontal turning is possible later. Do not tighten the four screws. Turn the stand back to upside-down. Now tighten the three screws. Turn it back top side up. Start tightening the four screws till a little movement of the top plate is possible. Now look from above and shift the top plate if necessary to align it parallel to the bottom base. Tighten al,the screws. Peal the 3M paper from the rubber pad and place it on the top plate. You are ready to go. Using this with a 24" monitor and its perfectly stable.
