The light on my coffee maker is small and hard to see. I wanted this to make it easy to see and double-check as I'm running out the door for work. It works perfect for that need and also provides a measure of safety to be sure the coffee maker is off. Cheap way to have peace of mind.

It’s a power switch that happens to be a useful addition to devices that didn’t come with one but really should have. I’m looking at you, cheap desoldering pump. If you can’t figure out how to use it, you should probably stick to melting crayons on the sidewalk in the hot Summer sun - but, as I am feeling particularly beneficent today, I’ll clue you in regardless. Plug this into the outlet, then plug the device you want to power on and off into it. Flip the switch to ‘on’ and the device is powered; flip it to ‘off’ and it isn’t. Doesn't get any easier than that. Incidentally, the power switch lights up, too. However, it only lights up in the ‘on’ position. This is important, because if you spend all of your time waiting for it to illuminate in the ‘off’ position, you will be in for a very tedious time.

got an under cabinet LED light and wanted to plug it into my power strip but did not want to have to plug it in and unplug it each time I wanted to use it, so I got this adaptor, plugged the led light into this, and pluged this into my power strip. and now it's a switch led light. works great.

Arrived on time, appropriately packaged. Tested the switch, if worked fine. It's rated for a 15 amp circuit so should function with basic household circuits. Rated only for dry environments. That and limited amperage capacity led to the 1-star reduction in score.

I bought a vent fan for my wood stove. The idea is it will heat up and get the updraft going on my wood stove vent so I do not get a backdraft on a cold day. That heater plugs in and is ON all the time. The only way to shut it off is to unplug it. So for ten or fifteen minutes you need to get the flow going before you start a fire you have to leave this thing on ALL THE TIME or keep plugging it in when you need it and unplug it when you do not. This device solved the problem. Just plug this into the wall, plug the vent fan into it and I have an instant on/off switch. Nice solid switch that lights up when on, you can even see it across the room.
