Don't buy a VOIP Telephone!
We bought this as our landline is going (like everyone else's) and everyone will need a VOIP phone or cheaper still is this device. It plugs into the back of your Internet hub and converts your old phone in to a workable one that allows you to talk or receive calls via the internet system. It has been brilliant.

If you have full fibre broadband and and older phone you need one of these adapters
My landline wouldn't work when plugged directly into the router. I had been told about this adapter and thought it would be worth a try. My landline had worked until I changed over to full fibre broadband, so I knew the phone wasn't faulty. The adapter arrived today, plugged it into the router, then the phone into the adapter and the phone now works.A great adapter and saves me buying a brand new phone, great bargain and works a treat

Works fine, but be careful with older phones
This adapter worked perfectly fine for me on my Cisco SIP ATA (and would work with more consumer devices like a Virgin Media Hub/etc). However, as it lacks a ring capacitor, it was unable to make my vintage BT Tribune phone ring. If you are using this with older phones (I'd say pre-1990s) and it doesn't ring, you may need an adapter with a ring capacitor instead.

Keeps the old phone going with fibre conversion.
Having gone fibre the old phone plugs in and works fine.

good
great ! good price and qulity

Flimsier than expected
The supplied adaptor is not exactly like the photo. The cable is now an extremely thin ribbon with no overall outer sheath. It works well enough but doesn't look like it will last long.

Perfect for network engineers
I really like these there impossible to get these days and as a network engineer I use them often even better that their cheap and quick to order

Works
I bought this and an Rj11 > Rj11 cable just in case the RJ11 was not correctly wired. They both worked so I preferred to completely change the cable to use an ATA adapter as I moved to VOIP saving myself a ton of money that BT charge for the lousy line.I can't say this is value for money. I think a reasonable price is around 1.80 to 2.50, more than that is pretty much overcharging and the quality doesn't look great.
