Purchased this in Dec 23. It worked well while it lasted. It recently shut off on me about 3days ago and has came back on since. I did get a good yr use out of the product. However, considering the fact it wasn't used everyday and no more than 3x a week. I feel like it should have lasted longer than a year. So, can't say I'll purchase this one again. Wasn't a spectacular performance to risk another buy to only get another possible year of usage.

I am a newbie to DIY dip powder nails. Needless to say, things have gotten a little messy. Not to mention, I also suffer from dip flu. To help alleviate this issue, I bought the Melody Susie Dust Collector. And I am happy I did. It captures much (though not all) of the nail dust as I file my nails. As such, I am not breathing as much of it in. Moreover, my desk is somewhat cleaner with the dust collector. It has two power settings - Lo and Hi. I usually use it on the highest setting. The control buttons are soft touch and located in an area that is easily accessible. I find myself accidentally turning off poor changing the speed setting. Therefore, I position the control panel away from me to stop that from happening. The dust collector sounds like what you would expect. It is not overly loud. but not whisper quiet either. The power is more than adequate for the job. At first, I didn't think so. But, I tried the paper towel test. Lay a paper towel over the dust and the paper towel should instantly stick to the nail dust collector, as the suction of the fan pulls at anything near it. Cleaning the filter is easy. I shake it out over the garbage can and/or use a blow dryer on low/no heat to remove as much dust as possible before putting it back ino the machine. Melody Susie instructions suggest to change the filter every 2-3 months. But, as I am a DIYer who only uses it 2-3 times per month, I will only change every 6-8 months. Overall, I am enjoying this dust collector.

This seems like an expensive unnecessary buy at first, but it has made a huge difference - I don't have dip nail dust flying everywhere anymore! It's so worth it. Has 3 settings for the van. It can be pretty loud on the highest setting, so I usually listen to something with headphones.

Strong suction, quiet, and very easy to use. Keeps my nail table clean and my clients love it. Totally worth it!

UPDATE: I contacted Melodie Susie via their website and provided my Amazon order info. They promptly sent me a new item. VERY impressed with the customer service! I used this approximately 10 times, and it worked very well. Unfortunately, at exactly 6 months after delivery, it turns on but the fan doesn’t work. I had to sit outside to file off my nail color. 😭 I’m not impressed with the longevity. It was an expensive item, and I hope they’ll reply to my warranty claim.

I just got my dust collector today and love it! A huge upgrade to my old one. Regardless the product is great and works really well

I use this mostly in low settings and the noise is not intrusive. I like the saucer shape which makes it easy to rest your arms and your client's arms. It collects in about 95% of acrylic dust using only a 24 watt fan. The dust stays on the filter tray and it doesn't pass into the fan which is great because this will prevents internal parts form clogging. The design is efficient and performs better then most suction fans I've tested. I have tried others with gimmicks like strong 40, 60, 80 watt, dual fans, or double motors which all have under performed. Although this is made in China there is no mention that it is German engineered which should be a highlight in the product feature because it's a nice machine for all the nail enthusiast out there.
