STAR WARS 05 MINUTE STAR WARS STORIES HC

My son adores these stories. He was stepping up from the level 2 reader Star Wars books, and these represent a significant step in complexity, but these were bang on his reading ability and have been pitched perfectly. The illustrations and text per page work really well, while the story elements have been carefully selected and framed so as to avoid any nightmares or difficult conversations about (for example) Luke Skywalker getting his hand cut off. Excellent.

Amazing hardback book. Arrived today and my son was so pleased. The illustrations are also very good. There are 11 short stories generally between 15 and 18 pages. A perfect length for bedtime stories.

Got this for our eldest's 4th birthday. It has a good selection of short stories from the first 7 films and she loves it. The stories only take a few minutes each and are perfect length for bedtime reading.

This is a fantastic collection of short stories. My two Star Wars mad boys have been asking for just this book before bedtime for the last month since we got it. It's got a good variety of stories from all the movies, including the latest Force Awakens. I'm only removing a star because 1) my boys complained that Kylo Ren is not in it! They haven't actually even seen the Force Awakens movie, but they know about the character so they were really eager to see him in a story; and 2) Some of the pictures like of the Rathtars and the Rancor monster are pretty scary/ugly looking - might be a bit much for little ones. I took to those with a black marker and coloured in the worst bits so they don't have to have nightmares after reading them!

Better than I thought in terms of quality, stories are just the right length for bedtime and age appropriate.

So often I find kids books are cheap rip offs, particularly franchise related things. This one breaks that trend! Quality hard back, nice illustrations, my 7year old immediately fell in to reading it and told me to go away. In one purchase I have already started looking at other books they do!

Bought this for the kids in my Grade 5 class. They loved it. Now my 5-year-old grandson runs to get it each time he comes over. Easy reading, short stories that highlight aspects of the movies. The stories are not in chronological order, which bugs me, but does not concern my grandson - so I'm cool with it if he is!

My five year old has gotten into Star Wars because of his older two siblings, and this is a great way to get him involved. The stories are fun and age-appropriate for him. They've taken out some of the more gritty moments from the movies. I personally like that the stories are short and sweet. We can agree to read maybe two stories, which makes the bedtime reading go smoothly and not take all night. My seven year old liked this book when we first got it, but he's reading pretty well on his own, so he got bored of it pretty quickly. It's perfect for a four, five, or six year old. We also have 5 Minute Marvel Stories, which is equally good and features a bunch of superheroes. If you like this Star Wars book, you should check out that one too.

As far as the content of a children's book, I found that both me and my daughter enjoyed the stories. It fills a nice niche between stories kids learn to read themselves and a bit more complex of stories that parents read to older kids.
