Works brilliantly well when it works!!
Worked really well with tracking on the Quest 2 and 3 but after a couple of months it would work for a couple of hours, then overheat and start blinking followed by switching itself off so had no choice but to return it. I used it with a usb c cable from my 4 port wall charger and had no issues with it switching off after X amount of time as reported by others. It's also got a very small footprint (3 inches by 2 inches) so very easy to use on a table, desk or mantlepiece directly in front of you. I'm guessing I had a faulty one, which isn't an issue due to Amazon's no fuss returns policy so am giving it 5 stars because it was working brilliantly well before it started overheating, giving flawless tracking with both the Quest 2 and 3 (yes I have both), thus improving the quality of your gameplay. So yes, due to Amazon's easy returns for items that develop a fault, I'd highly recommend getting this for your VR tracking needs. No more low light warnings and you can even play in the dark so no more inconveniencing others.

It does its job, but….
The product does its job and works really well in the dark when you put it in good position I was surprised I thought I would need to get a few of them but one was enough for my small ish room. But the few negatives that I have to say are that it gets pretty hot after a few hours and not sure if it would burn itself out or not if kept on, also it doesn’t seem to work well with power bank as it turns off after like 20 minutes and you would need to turn it back on, I’ve seen a few reviews complaining about it turning off even with the rechargeable battery that you can put in it. So you have to use a socket or an extension for it to work.

Great bit of kit
Works fantastically, I work different shifts so when I do a late shift I now use this to stream my shows or play my Xbox remotely without having bright lights or large screen TV on. Really pleased with it so far.

Perfect for use with PSVR2
Struggled with using the PSVR2 in a darkening room, did some research and found this piece of equipment. I can now use the headset in complete darkness with perfect hand tracking. I do always use a table lamp as well just so I can see when I remove the headset. The unit has 3 levels of infrared light that it can output, I plug it into a spare phone charger and set it to the first level. I play Synth Riders and Audio Trip, both of which require accurate hand tracking and this level of light works great.

Manufacturer Take Note - Buyers Beware
I would have liked to have given this neat little "rechargeable" VR infrared light a 5 star review but unfortunately it fails miserably. 1st problem it's not rechargeable for 2 reasons, 1) it doesn't come with a power cell to recharge (decent one will cost £6/£7) and 2) the battery will neither power the unit or be recharged as the battery compartment contact on the + does not extend far enough to make contact with the battery terminal. (1850 batteries typically do not have an extended + terminal unlike other batteries and is flush and in some cases slightly recessed) I personally had a spare battery cell and fitted a washer spacer within the battery compartment in order for the battery to make contact. In conclusion the unit is vastly overpriced as it's not rechargeable without a power cell and the battery compartment terminals are unsuitable therefore it's not Only a faulty product it's not rechargeable as it comes without a rechargeable cell and subsequently vastly overpriced. Earning it only 1 star for a product that is neat and works well if you don't mind buying a battery, overpaying and modifying the terminal connector 😁

Turns itself off after 20 minutes
When it works, it's great. Unfortunately even with a fully charged battery AND connected to a fully charged power bank, it turns itself off after 20 minutes, so I have to interrupt play and manually turn it back on again. Don't know yet if plugging it in to the mains will keep it turned on, but the reason I bough Ii was for portability...if I knew it had to plugged in to work properly I would have just got a more powerful mains powered IR lamp.

Ottimo

Worked better than expected!!!
I wanted to give this a thorough nights use before I left my review. Let me just say, WOW!🤩 It was EXACTLY what I was looking for to fix my dark room tracking issue with my Meta Quest 3!!! I used to have to deal with not being able to use my Meta Quest 3 at night time unless I either had lights on in the room, or I was inevitably forced to function without pass through and in some environment of sorts. Since I bought this IR device, I’ve said goodbye to those nights!!! So. Let me give you some insight on how great this thing is… I went to a COMPLETELY dark room in my house after the sun went down and I turned on the Quest 3. Immediately I was hit with a tracking lost notification! So I put this device to the test and BAM!!! As soon as I cut it on, all tracking notifications GONE! Granted that it was nothing but black back scene and the windows that I have open! And to me, the best part about it is if I wanted to use the light in the room for a second to find something while using pass through, I could! The cameras on the quest automatically adjusts to the new light and even again when you shut the lights back off!!! As long as you have this thing on, you’d never have to worry about losing tracking again on your headset!!! Now for a couple of opinions. This is a nice piece of work here 😉 It works better than described for its intended purpose. But I wish that I had noticed that this unit takes an 18650 type battery before today. I would have bought one at the same time for portability! Nevertheless. This unit also comes with a Type-C USB port for input power. And the power draw is minimal! On my USB meter, it topped out at 5V 3.5watts on its highest #4 setting. Not very much power consumption at all. Not to mention I only used it on its lowest #1 setting all night, in a fairly large room, more so pointing at the ceiling above my head than at me, and I STILL had no issues!!! (It had about a 140 degree tiltable head. Front to back.) I imagine that this device could transform someone’s visual quality and clarity on night vision security cameras!!! This is WELL worth what I spent! To be honest, they are probably going to go up in price once they see we’ve caught on! So if you need one, get one NOW!!! I’m buying another one when I order those 2 18650 batteries to run them portable!!! (Edit) So I just had a genius idea!!! The nominal voltage of an 18650 battery is about 3.7 volts 10Wh. My stepson had so many empty vape carts in a drawer in his room… And the nominal voltage for them are the same!!! Just the watt hours are about half. I took 2 of those batteries and charged them both separately to the same voltage and then tied them together in parallel to keep the same 3.7 volts and multiply to just about the same watt hours an 18650 has. It fit PERFECTLY in the 18650 battery tray!!! I’ve been using these batteries for multiple hours at a time at night for DAYS and it seemed like it wouldn’t die, so I didn’t turn it off last night when I went to bed and it was STILL ON when I woke up for work and didn’t die until about 20 minutes after I got home from work on an 8 hour shift!!! And on top of that it only took about an hour and a half for those batteries to charge back up while still inside of the device!!! The Type-C port seems to use a built-in PD system to charge. The charge current never went past 5 volts 14 watts… But the charge current also did drop as the batteries approached being full and went to ABSOLUTE ZERO across all fields when the batteries were done charging! Thanks for putting overcharge protection in here guys!!!
