True to size and comfortable

My husband wears long sleeve Carhartt shirts, religiously! We live on the coast and he is usually cold, so he wears them all year long. The shirts are extremely well-made and will last for years. He wears them every day, I throw them in the washer and straight into the dryer and they come out looking great every time. I highly recommend these shirts. They typically run large so we buy a size smaller. They do not shrink at all. Because they are cotton, they hold onto stain so as soon as I see any type of stain on the shirt, I immediately throw some dawn liquid detergent on there let it soak and then throw it in the washer! The fabric is nice and thick two!

This Carhartt Men's Workwear Midweight Jersey Pocket Long-Sleeve T-Shirt, in large size is a little larger than I expected. If shrinkage does occur, I won't be upset. I have a 42+ chest and normally Medium T Shirts end up shrinking up and then they make me look like a tool, trying to wear too small and tight fitting shirts. This one should last a good while, as it is well made and of good quality cloth. It will be a winter wear article for me, as I live in the south where 6 months a year you are just trying to stay cool outside. I like the shirt's length, as it will stay tucked in and will look OK out as well. The pocket has the Carhartt Logo, which I don't mind as it is nondescript and does not advertise too much. I've given up being a free billboard for companies that charge me for clothing I wear and try to benefit from the sale by blazoning you with their obnoxious image. If this shirt lasts and looks good for time eternity that I wear it, I may come back and give it another star, but for now - four stars!

Good quality

Purchased for my Dad when he was in long term care. He refused to wear the sleeves the aides would put on him to protect his arms from skin tears. Wearing long sleeve T-shirts was the only other option. Needed 100% cotton for breathability. This shirt fit both criteria. And the material supple enough to make (un)dressing him a little easier.

The sizes vary big time. Best to pay attention to what that specific color is made of. Thr solids are mostly 100 cotton and will will continue to shrunk. So I go with large. For the heather colors, medium will fit just fine and tends not to shrink because of the polyester cotton blend. I would not suggest this for a summer shirt. I sometimes wear surfer-type long sleeves in the summer. I wore this on a hot day and found myself hot and uncomfortable. Does not breathe well in heat.

I bought this shirt last year for my husband for Christmas. He was really happy with the quality and fit of it! I did size up once to give him a more comfortable fit and so he could layer in the winter. It is a great buy!!
