Solid protection + solid utility
The case fit my iPad Pro perfectly, and putting it on was pretty easy. The magnets are really good, and can even work through some obstructions (case in point: me applying extra grip tape because I needed it for the games I wanted to play); they're definitely strong enough to hold the iPad in place for both horizontal and vertical positionings, though the former is definitely better. The stand is pretty stable as well in terms of holding its angle. In terms of protection, I feel pretty confident that it'll be good for that. It has the raised rims that have saved my iPhone numerous times, so I definitely like that- It's not overly thick, but it can definitely take a beating while closed, enough where I wouldn't be too worried. The case itself has also been jostled around in my backpack a full year without me noticing any quality issues with it, so I'm happy on that front too- All in all, very good! The price is definitely somewhat daunting, but I think the quality is enough where I'd say it's worth it. I'd definitely recommend it.

A Well-Designed Case for iPad Power Users with One Minor Drawback
This case offers excellent versatility with multiple viewing angles and the flexibility to switch seamlessly between portrait and landscape modes. The removable magnetic cover is a standout feature, allowing the iPad to detach easily while remaining protected. It also provides sturdy protection and feels stable when using the Apple Pencil or working on your lap. The main drawback is the added weight and bulk caused by the strong magnetic system, which may be noticeable during extended use or travel.

Sturdy Case. Lots of Features. Good Price
When searching for a reliable case that balances protection with aesthetic appeal for the iPad Pro 13 inch, the ESR case stood out to me for its good design and functional features. First and foremost, the ESR case provides excellent protection against everyday wear and tear. Crafted from high-quality materials, it wraps snugly around the M4 iPad Pro, safeguarding it from scratches, bumps, and minor drops. The raised edges around the screen and camera lens offer added peace of mind, ensuring these vulnerable areas stay protected without compromising usability. In terms of design, the ESR case strikes a good balance between style and functionality. Available in a variety of colors, from classic to vibrant options, it caters to different preferences while maintaining a sleek and professional appearance. The matte finish not only feels smooth to the touch but also helps resist fingerprints, keeping the case looking clean and new over time. Functionality is where the ESR case truly shines. Precise cutouts ensure easy access to all ports, buttons, and speakers, allowing seamless operation of the iPad Pro without needing to remove the case. The built-in magnetic trifold stand offers multiple viewing angles, making it convenient for watching videos, typing, or using the iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil. Durability is another strong suit of the ESR case. Reinforced corners and sturdy stitching contribute to its overall robustness, ensuring long-lasting protection without adding unnecessary bulk or weight. Whether you're using your iPad Pro at home, at work, or on the go, the ESR case provides the reliability you need to keep your device safe. The thing I found that I did not expect was that when open, the case will magnetize to metal surfaces and hold the iPad firmly in place. This could be inconvenient for some, but it is an added bonus for me as I can stick my iPad to a metal shelf or trust that it will stay in place on top of a metal desk and not get knocked off. Overall, the ESR iPad Pro 13 inch Case offers a compelling blend of protection, design, and functionality. It's a practical choice for users who value both style and usability in their accessories, making it a worthy investment to enhance the longevity and enjoyment of your iPad Pro.

Zugu killer? No.
I’ll start by saying I bought this on sale, and at $35 I think it’s absolutely worth the money. I currently own a Zugu case, and while it’s a great case overall, it’s heavy and really takes away from the sleek feel of the iPad Pro M4. When gaming or watching media, the Zugu makes the iPad feel bulky, and I often end up holding the front flap, which quickly gets smudgy from handling. It’s very protective, but not enjoyable to use casually. I was looking for a middle ground. Something that protects the iPad without the constant bulk of a folio, but still allows me to snap it into a folio when tossing it in a backpack, or prop it up when watching something while cooking or doing other tasks. The ESR Shift checks all of those boxes. The inner case is thin and lightweight, which is exactly what I wanted. I also really like the textured back, which adds grip when holding the iPad in tablet mode. The magnets are strong and reassuring, and despite seeing complaints about fit, I had zero issues installing my iPad, even with a screen protector on. Cutouts for the ports and speakers are also spot on. Where this case falls short is the folio portion itself. Compared to the Zugu, the difference in quality is night and day. The folio has more of a plastic feel, which makes me question its long term durability compared to the thicker, leather like material on the Zugu. I’ll update this review if the folio starts to fall apart. That said, I’m still happy with the purchase because it offers something no one else does right now. If Zugu made a case like this, even at $80, I’d buy it instantly. They really need to update their design. Overall, the iPad feels protected, the case is easy to install, easy to flip into different positions, and I chose black to avoid discoloration or showing dirt over time. I’d buy it again unless durability becomes an issue.

Works great, very versatile, a couple things I would change
This case is great. It does exactly what it should do and has a great quality. I forget sometimes that the case actually magnetically attaches to the foldable part so that connection is sturdy. There is a lot of versatility with what angle you put it at and it can even work in portrait mode if you turn the case itself. It offers decent protection. It’s just like another one I had like it from a different company but this one does make it a bit hard to grab the flap that supports the angle than the other one. It does have an additional flap on the top that I’m not too sure what it does. Downsides to this one is 1. I wish it had a little section the helps keep the Apple Pencil secured in the side. My old one did, this one does not. 2. It’s dumb that the magnetic array doesn’t also work on with the keyboard case. I bought both with the intention to do that. And had to return the keyboard because I wasn’t about to change the case on the iPad every time I switched it and have an extra coming with me everywhere.

I thought Zugu was great, but this is the unicorn!
This is the unicorn iPad case I never even knew I needed! I had a Zugu case on my old iPad, and I while I was not a big fan of the bulk while holding it, the stable stand always there when you need it was well worth it. Well, when I had a bougie moment and upgraded to the new iPad Pro right away, I went to Zugu only to find that they didn't have a case for it yet. Turned out to be in my favor, as it led me to this ESR case! They not only solved the bulk issue, they went above and beyond to make the best case I have ever used. ESR has all the features of the Zugu - the stable, adjustable stand with lots of levels, a pencil/stylus holder in the back in addition to pencil support on the side, and the ability to attach it to a magnetic surface like your fridge. And I will say, the Zugu materials do feel a little more premium, but it is also a more expensive case. The ESR still feels/looks high quality and brings extra features that I love. Top feature - it's a two-part case. It has a slim fit back-only case that magnetizes to the cover, so it instantly pops out for holding while still protecting the iPad. This is the game changer that gives you both protection of a bulky case and the convenience of a magnetic smart cover. And then there's the feature I didn't even know I needed, the elevated stand! It holds the iPad up at a higher level for noticeably less strain on the neck when watching or using it on a table. I thought it might feel unstable propped up that high, but it does not. The magnets hold it tight and it balances the weight well, possibly even enough to withstand my iPad-loving cat! Also thanks to the magnets you can pop it on the stand in portrait mode, another thing the Zugu case doesn't offer. Good for book reading, or the occasional annoying app that doesn't support landscape mode. It supports the Apple Pencil on the side, but in a much more subtle way - there's not a raised portion shaped like a pencil going "something should be here that's not!", it's just a subtle indentation with rounded ends that I know is for the Pencil, but it isn't very noticeable. Big plus over the Zugu there, as I think it looks weird just sitting there empty on that case as I have no Pencil. And lastly, it has that nice little fabric stylus/pencil holder in the back - I like to use a regular mesh-tipped stylus and that keeps it right on hand, think it's even the same fabric Zugu uses. But if you don't want to use it, it doesn't get in your way like a loop-style holder. The back case fits the new iPad perfectly, all the ports buttons etc line up, and the volume and power buttons on the case are nicely raised. Switching it around in the various configurations is super simple as it just snaps where it needs to be, and it passed the fridge magnetization open-shut door test with flying colors. Love the purple color, and the fact that the darker portions on the cover and stylus holder are a matching darker shade of purple, it's clear attention to detail went into this. Only tiny downside i noticed is that while the cover has great magnets on the back, the front cover part seems to have very weak ones, so it doesn't really snap closed and could possibly fall open in a bag if it's not tucked in right. But that is minor at best and honestly sometimes stronger magnetized covers annoy me, so I could go either way. Seriously, stop looking and buy this case. It's amazing.

Stylish, functional, and perfect for artists
Overall I really love this case! It suits all my needs as a digital artist and protects my iPad well. Pros: - beautiful pink color, not too bright but not too dark - magnets are strong and hold the iPad in place - strong pen sleeve - SO many angles to work with - fun to decorate - removable magnetic case Cons: - FEELS flimsy, (not sure how it affects protection) - pen sleeve gets dirty fast

Solid, But Not Premium
This is one of very few decent cases I've found that fit my exact needs—I need a case that is either very easily removed and reinstalled (like the Pitaka or Apple Folio cases) or that has a sort of inner case that can detach from the folio part (this or the Otterbox Defender). Obviously the former means overall protection is compromised, meaning it's better kept in something like a laptop bag or backpack for optimum protection, but a case like this ESR seems durable and protective enough to handle all but the most egregious mistreatment. The reason my case needs are so specific is I routinely mount my iPad to a microphone stand—this doesn't really work with a folding case attached. I've tried both the Pitaka and Apple folio cases and while I do like how thin and light they are, I'd rather have some level of protection for my iPad even when the folding mechanism isn't attached. This ESR case fits that bill nicely, and is easily the best around at its price point. The only case I like better is the Zugu folio, but unfortunately that case is rather difficult to remove/re-install quickly, to the point that it feels like I may damage the iPad trying to put it on. I like the magnetic attachment and the fact that in addition to setting the viewing angle, I can raise it up several inches off my desk or rotate it to portrait mode if needed. This is definitely the heaviest case I've used, but that's understandable given all that's going on here. The front and back panels feel quite sturdy, and the additional magnets required to accommodate all those viewing positions are certainly contributing. I don't mind the weight personally, but some may be put off by it. My biggest complaint, especially when compared to the Zugu, is that the front cover doesn't nestle in to the case when closed—this means even when closed, the front cover can sort of flop around a bit, which makes the whole thing feel just a bit less solid and put-together than I think it actually is. I also don't like holding the case in its fully closed position—you can feel all the separate layers and the gaps in between. This also contributes to the feeling that this case is missing some polish. I don't hate this case. It's one of the most versatile in terms of available viewing angles, and my assumption from the heft and 360 degree coverage is that it will do a great job protecting your iPad. But I'd be willing to pay another $20 or $30 to get something that feels more premium, especially given how expensive these iPads are. If you need maximum flexibility on your desk, aren't fussed about the small details, and don't mind the thickness and weight, this is a great option.

Premium, Versatile iPad Case with Great Protection
This ESR case feels genuinely premium and sturdy. It’s a practical, stylish choice for everyday use that will protects the iPad well, offers versatile viewing angles, and includes a smooth rotating stand with a secure magnetic cover. If I’m being picky, it does add a bit of bulk, so it’s not the slimmest option on the market, but given the extra protection and flexibility it provides, I think it’s a very reasonable trade-off.
