I bought this 3D pen because it was labeled Amazon's Choice, so I expected at least a basic level of quality. Unfortunately, it was a complete disappointment. The listing shows a power adapter connected to the pen, but the product arrived with only a USB cable. If the power adapter is not included, this should be clearly stated instead of showing it in the product images. After connecting it to a suitable 5V/2A power supply, I managed to test it with my son. Before we could even finish the first drawing, the nozzle came off because of the heat. It would not fit back properly, and shortly afterward the pen stopped heating completely. The display is also extremely small and difficult to read, and the overall build quality feels very cheap. A product that fails in less than 10 minutes of normal use should not carry the Amazon's Choice badge. I returned it immediately and cannot recommend it.

No stencil book or project manual included. Box is different than picture. Not very good quality.

After 5 months the heater is now working. The temperature reads wrong. You need to let power it on and off many times to make it work. It's just a toy for kids

Good value for money

6 months now and heavy use and no issues. Honestly my daughter's love this and I've had to buy several refills. Easily worth the purchase to allow them to be creative.

This thing has excellent instructions and documenration. The included filaments are a great way to get started in the world of 3d pen art. I'll say that there is actually a fairly decent skill ceiling with this thing - the people in the videos make it look super easy. I have judged how "low quality" the toys and figures are that they were making, but I had no idea those guys are freaking PROS with this. When it comes out, it's working at one speed (which is adjustable), so you have to continue moving the pen at a consistent speed to get a stable, straight line. Move too fast or use too high a temperature, and a vertical line will fall down, with horizontal lines squiggling as you draw. Move too slow or use too low a temp, and the plastic will wriggle and writhe as it comes out or struggle to come out at all from the low heat. This is an art tool, not just a toy, and like any art tool, it takes practice and experience to do it well. Also, it doesn't tell you just how fast you can go through the included filament - my son went through all of it making a small handful of figurines in roughly 45 minutes. Definitely buy extra filament if you intend to use this a lot!
