It's so hard to find a good thong shape wear. I wear them so often, but usually with pants, jeans and shorts. They are basic everyday shaping. They don't roll down on me at all. My only "con" is If you have a booty or love handles, these could be tough to wear with a tight dress. Where the line ends/ the thong begins, is very fitting to the skin. So once you put a tight dress on (especially cotton), you can really see the line and your butt sticking out in an unnatural way. But you can wear it under dresses of a thicker material, usually works with something forma. Just expect your hips to stand out slightly more than usual. Im usually a size 7/28. I have wider hips and a smaller waist. I found that, because of that, it left a strange muffin top that was visible under a dress without a slip (as I was testing - I would still wear a slip of course.) However, when I put on a pair of boy-short-style Spanx over this pair of thong Spanx, it gave me a perfectly flat stomach. So, I kept this pair specifically for layering in that way because I have a few dresses that require an extra bit of tummy control.
