Best Base
I had gotten a Shure gooseneck microphone but had no way of mounting it until I found out that Shure makes a base for these. The microphone pushes right into the base and works perfectly with no undue alteration to the sound. The base is heavy and the wired XLR plug is sturdy too. The only thing that I wasn't too sure about at first was a lack of a 'lock' for the microphone. Usually when I plug an XLR cable into something, there is a push button lock to prevent the cable from pulling out, but the base doesn't have one for where the gooseneck mic pushes into it. Just make sure you push it all the way in and you will be fine though, this hasn't proven to be an issue during use at all. This base does NOT have a mute button, there is a different one for that if you need it.

Great design idea
As advertised and great idea. Gives mic longer effective reach and no need for a large connector plugged into the back.

Great Product for Tables and Altars
The right solution for using the Shure MX418 gooseneck on a tabletop setup. We use ours on our altar, and it works perfectly. It is heavy enough without feeling like a paperweight. The only thing I wish was that it was available in white.

Good product
These are a must have for corporate work. I have several Shure lectern mics and this makes them easy to deploy.

Exactly what I needed
Is exactly what I needed. I plug my shure gooseneck easy and the base make it very stable in my desk. The cable is long enough.

Excellent Base for Use on a Podium
This base is heavy enough not to slide around on a podium. It performs exactly as described-we are using it with a Shure CVG12-B/C gooseneck condenser microphone.
