It is easy to clean. The directions say to wash it with soap then wipe it with a wet towel, but I didn't want to risk getting soap or soap-flavor into my food. I've just used a wet paper towel and wiped it down until the paper towel no longer wipes off residue. It is VERY non-stick. You don't need to use a lot of oil or butter to grease the pan. The design seems to be pretty good. If you are careful, the crepe maker can be moved even while it's hot. Just remember to unplug it. You can turn the heat way down, but you have to unplug it to make it turn completely off. It heats up quickly ( a few minutes), so I can plug it in and let it warm up while mixing the crepes and in under 10 minutes can have a batch already cooked. It cooks evenly over the entire surface and is big, so I can cook Multiple things on it when not making crepes. I have owned another crepe maker previously ( still do), that Is hand held and you dunk the cooking surface Into a tray and it sticks to it so they come out appropriately thin. I always have a hard time getting them to come off nicely and end up making a mess. This particular one ( that I am reviewing) is so much easier. I just put the batter on and spread it with the spreader. The long stick thing makes it easy to turn them over and then remove them, and they come out perfect every time. I purchased this even though I already had something to use because some friends and I had been going out for crepes a lot and was getting expensive, so wanted a more commercial size to play recipe’s with.
