I’m missing a part needed for one of the legs. The step by step guide isn’t accurate, it shows I need to screw in at a certain hole that isn’t shown in the parts that I received in the kit. Highly disappointed and was really looking forward to getting this done. I wasted my money and time!

Needs special batteries. Wished it would've stated that beforehand. Christmas gift child still waiting for battery delivery

The servos included are supposed to be metal geared based on how it is specced on the housing, but they included only plastic gear servos. This dramatically shortens the lifespan of the product, and overall diminished the value I saw in buying this. The kit seems to come with everything needed, and no parts were missing. I am just disappointed in the servos having plastic gears. Building the kit is educational and fun for a first or second time robot builder, and instructions are complete.

This is a fantastic kit with everything included but the 18650 battery and the instructions. You will need to go to their website, and even watch an online video on how to put this quadruped together. You will also need to install drivers and firmware for it. The 18650 battery is also not included. Included is the battery holder, two PCB boards with processor (Arduino) all the servos connectors, screwdriver, and USB cable. There is a parts list and a decal too. I've only watched the video to put the bot together and plan on building this with my daughter. No soldering required. Parts come in a shielded bag where needed, and all other parts are in their own individual bags. The kit is reminiscent of the kits that Radio Shack used to sell and I loved. I don't think this kit will be challenging, but I do have a background in robotics and engineering, so I am used to tinkering a lot. However, I believe with patients this is a great kit to bond over with be a child, student or anyone. Makes a great gift for the Stem / Steam interested person or child.

This kit uses cheap parts that look like they came out of a 3d printer. The instructions are non-existent. I spent over an hour trying to find the instructions and then it was a battle to find the code. It also requires special additions to your Arduino IDE to make it work. I managed to get through all of that only to find that it doesn't work! I calibrated the unit and then it won't stand, walk anything. I am fairly computer savvy and have assembled several Arduino projects (I even designed a few) and I still found this to be way harder than it should be. I have reached out to customer service to see if they can help me get this working but, I completely expect to be returning this. I feel like this is a neat idea that was very poorly executed

This review is for the ACEBOTT ESP8266 Bionic Quadruped Spider Robot Kit. Great STEM robot kit. It is somewhat tedious to assemble with the small bolts and nuts in tight places, but it just takes a little patience and time. While the age reference for this says 8 and up, it will take a good bit of assistance from an adult to complete as well as all the setup and calibration. The required battery is not included so be sure to get the correct one since it is a typical household battery used in toys.
