XVX Shine Through Keycaps, Black Semi Translucent Keycap Set, Double Shot PBT Keyboard caps Compatible with Cherry Gateron MX Switches Mechanical Keyboard

I bought these shortly after I purchased a redragon keyboard with white and black keys. I quickly realized that the RGB wasn't even noticeable through the white ones. For these, they are a little dim, but do the trick when you have bright or light colors. The perimeter "shine through box" looks awesome, but dim as well, and for the wider keys (space, enter, plus, etc.) the light doesn't reach to the corners. I would take a half star off for this, but it really just has to do with the physics of singe north facing RGB and not about the keycaps. Super easy to install, and since I'm using silent switches, these make no noise. I went from large rounded keycaps to these and was worried about the spacing, but these fit perfectly. High quality and a good value purchase.

Context: - Redragon Trundle K668 platform. - Gamakay Pegasus silent tactile switches. - Heavy typer, primarily work use (reporting/coding/data analytics, lots of 10-keying/writing/Excel). - "Flat-fingered" (not a fingertip typer) and pretty heavy-handed (used a Model M for decades until I changed companies and they complained about the noise) with pretty narrow fingers; 80% touch-typer but self-taught (not a home-row hero and my technique would make any real typist cringe). Pros: - It's a full set of double-shot PBT keycaps for $10; good luck finding better value for money than that! - They look GREAT; shine-through is bright and vibrant; legends are a happy medium size/style and are neither aggressively modern nor overly vintage. - Very firm connection to the switches. - Comes with various size Shift keys, 1u Ctrl/Alt/Shift/Fn/Num0 keys, and an ISO enter key if that's your thing. - A nice, "soft" sort of textured feel with edges that are ever so slightly rounded, which makes them feel very comfortable. - The "pudding" effect bathes your top plate in LED glow, an effect I really like on white keebs. - Did I mention they were only TEN DOLLARS for a full set of double-shot PBT keycaps?! That alone is reason enough to get these! Cons: - Windows and Menu keys are 1.5u width and you only get one of each, so if you have a keeb with 1u spacing for these (like a Corsair K95) you're hosed. - Likewise, only one spacebar size (6.25u) so if you need a 6u for your older Razer BlackWidow or a compact keeb you're hosed; if you need a 6.5u for your Corsair or a 7u for your [whatever gaming plank] you're gonna have gaps. - Only one Windows key so if your keeb has a second one you'll have to use a Fn keycap for it. - They give you an ISO Enter key but none of the other 1u keys you'd need for an ISO layout (1u Backslash/Pipe, 1u Tilde/Number Sign, alternative Backquote key, alternative 3 key, etc.). - A bit of injection flash on the back edge of each key. Not a big deal unless you have a custom keeb with incredibly tight spacing. - They fit a little TOO securely. If you're using a keeb with hot-swappable switches you're going to be pulling the switch out with the keycap a lot. I don't mind this so much, but figured I'd mention it. - They're designed for north-facing switches so keep that in mind if you're worried about shine-through. - The 0 and . keys on the number pad have south-facing legends for "Ins" and "Del" and have no chance at shine-through with north-facing switches, which was an odd choice. It's also strange that of all the keys to have sub-legends they chose these two - none of the other numpad keys that typically have sub-legends (1, 3, 7, 9) do. - They come in a folded-in-half plastic clamshell tray that has those snap things holding the two halves together, so you're almost guaranteed to spray the keycaps everywhere when you open the package. - The "pudding" effect is subtle, especially on keebs where the bottom edges of your keycaps are recessed. - My set didn't come with the advertised keycap puller. Not a big deal for me as I already had one, but keep that in mind. Notes: - The profile is a normal-height version of the proprietary XVX Horizon low-profile...uhh, profile (they call this the "XVX Horizon 'Highland' Profile"). It's a sculpted profile (i.e., NOT UNIFORM ROW HEIGHT - these are NOT XDA profile caps!) with cylindrical tops, moderate side curvature, and very slightly rounded edges. They're sort of an unusual hybrid of XDA and Cherry - the key tops and sides are very XDA-like but row heights are sculpted similar to Cherry. The result of this combination is a little strange - the transition between rows (i.e., the difference in height between the back of one row and the front of the next) is very noticeably inconsistent going up the keyboard. The step between rows 1 and 2 is the same as that between 4 and 5, the step between rows 3 and 4 is very similar but just slightly less severe, and the step between rows 2 and 3 is extremely slight (almost but not quite uniform height). If you're a fingertip-typer you probably won't even notice, but if you're like me and tend to use the flats of your fingers it's a little annoying as you'll keep bashing into the sides of rows 4 and 5 with your fingertips. That said, this is totally a personal preference sort of thing. - The homing bumps on F, J, and Num5 are VERY subtle. Again, a personal preference sort of thing. - Some odd choices for alternative-height keycap options: kit includes lower-profile PgUp, PgDn, and PrtSc keys and an extra-tall Del key. Not sure what that's about; guess it's either for some non-ANSI/ISO layout or a strange personal preference some people have. - No "fun" caps or caps for special function/macro keys (e.g., Mute, Vol+/Vol-, Lock, fun little icons, etc.). Many if not most keeb enthusiasts have keebs with these sorts of things and many other keycap sets come with some. However, those keycap sets aren't $10 either (though I've seen some as cheap as $14 come with a lot of these, as well as more key size versatility). - I'm not the type to care about sound, but if you do these are pretty muted; not gonna get tons of THOCK with these if that's what you're after. Verdict: The best set of double-shot PBT keycaps you will ever find for $10. They look great, function well, and the surface has a very nice, high quality feel. The profile is...interesting, and I'm not sure it's my thing, but if you've always wanted a hybrid of XDA key feel with Cherry row sculpting these will make you happy. If the keycap heights were adjusted so the row transitions felt consistent I'd probably buy these again for another keeb, but as it is I'm just not sure they're for me. That said, for $10 you should ABSOLUTELY give these a shot. If you like the profile it's the bargain of the century, and if you don't like the profile it's still a great bargain that you can learn to live with.

These keycaps have a great feel and do not give off the “cheap” vibe. However the shine thru isn’t great if you have south facing LEDs. It’s to be expected, but still worth noting. I like them tho and would buy again.

You very much get what you pay for The white keys are perfectly see-through, while the black keys are very dim Guess which there are more keys of Not at all as bright as the picture would suggest, but not so bad that I feel the need to refund Funny enough, I was going to upload a pic, but the camera makes it look like all the keys are shining perfectly, which I guess explains the pictures in the product listing

I got a new keyboard which I love: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CB46JJR1/ It came with premium quality opaque MDA Profile keycaps. Problem is, I work in a dark office and need to look sometimes when using numbers and symbols. I searched high and wide for MDA Profile shine-through keycaps and came up with nothing. These seemed to be a bit of a wildcard as it says the key profile is "Latest Horizon Profile" which I cannot find a definition or comparison for. But I did like the look of these. They are not as short and low profile as most shine through style, and I like the fact the shine through side parts are a bit more subtle than other pudding ones. If you don't know, pudding refers to the white/clear part around the bottom of the keycaps which gives them a nice "underglow". At the end of the day, I don't think you can do much better than this set considering the price and quality. I don't dislike the profile at all, but it does still seem like a slight downgrade form the heavier MDA keys that came with my keyboard. Pros: - Quiet: My keyboard did not get noticeably louder or clacker with these caps. Maybe a little. - Shine Through: I can now see my keys in the dark again. - Not flat: I don't know the actual profile of these but they have a decent scoop and the rows are not identical. - Love the smaller pudding sides, just the right amount of glow. - Bonus: the container they shipped in is a handy way to store my old keycaps. Cons: - I wish the font on the legends was a bit bigger or bolder. I have south-facing RGB and the letters on top could be brighter (thanks to the AI in my phone, they are brighter in the photo than in real life). - I wish they were available in some recognizable profiles such as MDA or SA. To compare to another keycap set I've purchased in the past: I had this set from my previous keyboard, but they are the lower profile ones, feel pretty cheap, and the pudding sides are a lot more of the keys, so almost too much light coming form around the keys: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CB8D2YB/ These were fun for showing off the Corsair RGB which can get pretty fancy. I also did not like the font used on the legends, especially the Shift and Caps Lock.

TL-DR: These are an AMAZING value for the money. If you need see-through keycaps that don't leave a dent in your wallet while also having a great texture, you've found 'em. Pros: Feel very quality, fit well, comes with extra key caps for different sized layouts (smaller left Shift, smaller ALT, Fn, and CTRL, smaller numpad 0, ect...), and have a great see-through effect. Cons: NONE! ...at least none that I can gather from my experience. My experience: When I saw these, I ordered two, one for my home keyboard (It's a Royalaxe L98) and my office work keyboard (also a Royalaxe L98) I was hoping to get some good see-through keycaps so I can see my lighting effects while also giving my keyboard a slimmer profile with a nicer texture. My God and Savior, did that tick all those boxes. The keycaps sit just as expected and it included all the smaller variants for my keyboard layout and some extra left over for different ones. It's great for juts about any person looking for keycaps but aren't sure what to buy in terms of form factor. This should tick all the boxes for first time keyboard builders/keycap customizers. I love the see-through effect. It's perfectly balanced (LOL Thanos joke) when it comes to shining outside the key caps and through the letters, not too much or unbalanced of either. Tastefully done. The last thing I love is the texture. I was worried they were gonna be slicker and my fingers wouldn't have the right amount of grip, but my worries were put to rest with the nicely feeling keycaps and a nice very minutely ridged feel to them. Not too much to feel like it's bothersome, but not too little where it feels like smooth plastic, juuuuust right. If you're holding off on buying these for ANY REASON, just..... DON'T! You WON'T regret it at all!

They crash very easily, feel rough, the shine thought / brightness is none existence. The worst part is the fit, it takes a lot of force to place and remove, to the point of pulling the switches off, and requiring another person to help pull off the keycap.

Mixed result. "Outemu switches use Cherry MX keycaps" isn't really true. A previous set advertised as Cherry MX compat work really well, these not so well. I really liked these otherwise, little pudding style to get the nice background glow without blowing out the key cap lettering, Rounded edges to cut down on accidently hitting the wrong key, a nice sightly tacky feel to help keeping the fingers on the key from slipping. Even higher profile. Room on the stems for o-rings. Everything to like except the fact they won't work with Outemu switches (red and browns). Even the couple I managed to keep on for a first kepypress popped off after a few presses. Oh well, the Cheap Quest continues....

First time buying keycaps after trying the DIY route (3D printed keycap) I tend to prefer working in a somewhat dark room, so I was looking for shine through keycaps. These fit my epomaker split 70 perfectly. Some keys are missing in this pack (macro keys), but that's fine I don't even use those The keys have a nice "thock" sound, equivalent to the original PBT keycaps from the epomaker keyboard (and those were some really chunky boys) . The letters/fonts on these keycaps is clean, and the light shine through its slightly dim, I know this is probably because my keyboard has south facing LEDs you can see from the photo taken in my room under different lighting conditions (monitor turned on and off, ceiling light turned on) legends are pretty clear, and good enough for my purpose (dark room) The black and white aesthetic is clean and minimalistic, I really like it. This set comes with numpad keys (fit on my epomaker ek21) and a bunch of additional spare keys as well, e.g. you could put your delete key on top row or one of the lower rows etc. Overall satisfied with the keycap set, and would recommend given it's pretty cheap (<£20 at the time of purchase) P.S. ignore the arrow keys as I had kept my 3d printed keycaps instead. This set comes with arrow keys in black and white (spare)

I don't know if I got lucky or if new units are all like mine, but I was pleasantly surprised. The font and rendering are very good, which is especially evident on the F-keys (compared with the other sets in the pics below). I installed mine on an AULA F99 (non-Pro) which came with ("bright") North-Facing LEDs. I have not been disappointed by the shine-through performance of these keycaps, although I felt the legends on both "ENTER" keys seemed to be less bright than all the others, but I can live with it. They performed better than 2 other Glorious-brand sets (see pic below). The thickness and quality rival those other sets as well. Last, but not least, I was very surprised (and relieved) to find they now included a matching small 0 for the Numpad.

Ótimo custo benefício, porém com alguns detalhes. Encaixou muito bem no meu Aula F87, porém as teclas Q e W não ficaram alinhadas corretamente com as demais, foi corrigido trocando por dois switches extras que vieram junto com o teclado. A qualidade do material é top também, um pouco mais ásperas que as teclas do Aula, mas não mudaram em nada a sensação do toque e o som do teclado. Deixei as teclas ESC e setas originais do Aula. A transparência das teclas é muito boa, ideal para switches com difusor de luz norte. O único problema é que quando o RGB está apagado, os números e símbolos das teclas pretas ficam bem menos visíveis, poderiam ser maiores, os símbolos principalmente. Por esse motivo, para meu conforto, tenho que deixar o RGB ligado durante o dia também.

Keycap set looks great! Just the “Q” and “W” keys are misaligned pretty badly and I can no longer return the set since it’s been over 30 days. Just be careful when you buy this set

Poor QA. I have had the caps on my keyboard for less than six months and multiple keycaps have broken at the stem.
