What makes them so great? Durability, quality, comfort, and fit. The soles on these wear like iron. I live in the tropics and these are my everyday shoes, day in and day out, 365 days a year. They go hiking, walking, working, etc. and they are not pampered. The sole is longer wearing than anything, even any shoe, that I've ever had. It's two part, softer on top for comfort and tougher on the sole for wear resistance. The sole is stiff enough to protect you from sharp rocks, etc, yet flexible enough to be comfortable. The straps fit my foot perfectly, and all of them are adjustable. Heavy but soft nylon that lasts longer than the sole. Support is moderate but sufficient for my feet. It's rare that you come across a product that is flawless, from design to construction. I wear size 10.5 shoes and the size 11 Teva was correct.
