A fascinating pop-up journey into the hidden world of insects, spiders, and other creepy-crawlies. Larger-than-life bugs spring from the pages, peek out from behind flaps, and hide under tabs, inviting young entomologists to marvel at the mind-boggling variety of arthropod life. What reader can resist a chance to look inside a cockroach’s body to see how it works or open a wasps’ nest to see what’s inside? Useful information (why does the world need bees?) and scientific trivia (which beetles are strongest and fastest?) pack every page, while exquisite art and dramatic pop-ups bring the world of bugs to teeming life. Review: Great Book - This book is awesome! My kids love it ages (7-11) The pictures are beautifully illustrated and the information is great. Get this book, you won't regret it. Review: So much to learn about Bugs! - These books are fascinating! Lots of windows to open and pop ups and pull downs filled with factual information. The pop ups are big and detailed.

As advertised. Great book for kids, teens, and adults interested in bugs.
This is a fantastic realistic pop-up book about insects. The information, the design, illustration are beautiful done. Mr. George McGavin and Illustrated by Jim Kay 10 out of 10. You don’t have to worry about real live insects escaping from containers and crawling around the house. LOL

Nice short bug pop-up book
My kids 7,8 love this book! The illustrations are great. They especially love pretending to dissect the cockroach lol I just wish it had more pages and pop-ups. There is a lot of text, cursive writing about the bugs, they read some of it but I think they may not be into reading all of the info, cursive writing for a couple years. But overall we really like it.

Well done
I spent a few years in my late twenties enthralled with entomology and still retain a healthy fascination with Insects. That is probably why the fact that this book is called "Bugs" and that insects are commonly referred to as "bugs" in the book irritates me somewhat. The term bugs actually refers to an Order of insects designated Hemiptera rather than the entire Class itself. Now that I am done tooting my geek horn, the review can continue... I also have a fascination with pop-up books, and once you've seen a few Sabuda and Reinhart's it tends to leave your expectations high. I am not saying there aren't really well done pop-ups in this book(there are). And a couple in particular are really grand, but I didn't have my face blown off at every turn like in the works of the other papercraft masters. But this book is great with its layout and design, and for having a small number of pages it packs in a lot of excellent information. It covers various Classes of Arthropods, goes into anatomy and physiology as well as ecology. The illustrations are quite competent and there are many flaps to be opened, revealing more information. There is also a pull tab, and one pop-up of a cockroach whose layers can be pulled away revealing internal organs. What a treat! This is all presented with the purpose of educating those far younger than I, but I still enjoyed the book. I would definitely recommend it to those with children interested in Insects and other Arthropods, and to adults who are into pop-ups and the source materiel. I , having a fairly decent general knowledge of the subject, still learned a couple of things. It's always nice to see the Insect world get any sort of love in the mainstream. I just wish there would have been a Robber Fly or two.

Amazing details
I wish I could give this more stars. My 3 yr old loves it and there are soooo many pop up and folding pieces and slide out pieces, a month later I’m still finding new things.

Amazing book
It’s a amazing book. There is a big spider on the cover, made me think there would be lots of info about spiders inside the book but there is just a tiny spider inside the book, a bit disappointed.
