To be sure I order the correct replacements I simply open the fob and view the part number of the top of the battery, which will always be on top. You don't have to remove the battery to see the part number. **Q: Why only 3 year shelf life? Energizer / Duracell all offer 10 yr shelf life.** A: Good luck Getting 3 years. I’ve used them as replacements in my food scale, car remote, and a few other small gadgets around the house. In every case, they’ve performed flawlessly. Strong, consistent power from the moment they’re installed. One small gripe: the packaging is a bit of a puzzle to open. It’s definitely secure (which I appreciate for safety reasons), but be prepared to wrestle with it a little or grab a pair of scissors.
